**while in the shop hey also did an oil change (free) and they replaced the power steering fluid (32000kms they charged me 79.95$)

First impression was the car boosts much faster, much smoother and power is constant across the entire powerband now. Idle after warmup sits between 700 and 800rpms and almost never fluctuates and if it dosnt it is maybe 50 or so rpms (very minor). The new turbo is different looking the heat shield is now polished and the wastegate actuator and all the parts surround are now bronze in color and the heat shield is a different shape. The turbo is whiney in all gears above 3000 rpms. I now boost 8.5 psi wheras before with the same gauge it was jus above 7psi. The boost is also constant throughout the entire rpm range is barely goes down to 8psi at higher rpms.

My new concern is I have an aem cold air which i am soon to convert so SRI for winter. My concern is my BPV is recirrculation and if i shift into neutral sometimes after light movement on the gas my car wants to stall??? its not like im boosting hard but jus barely on the gas. This is only really apparent why I am trying to park and am moving slowly...does anyone know why this would happen now ???

Ps. My Vaccum on my boost gauge no reads 20 whereas before it was sitting closer to 18/19ish...

Thanks everyone for comments...I appreciate the help...

Oh by the way the dealeship said if this was not under warranty with parts and labor i was looking at about 4800$ plus tax...sounds like that would have been a good time.. (braindead) (wow)

same thing happens to me - but I'm not running stock setup. The reason it almost stalls on me sometimes is that I'm still venting a tiny bit of air back through to the intake (or maybe to atmosphere even), even if I'm not in boost it still creates pressure differential between the IM and the intake, so air is recirculating. But it adds more fuel for some reason, so runs too rich and stumbles. I don't know why it's just started happening now to you though.

Vacuum always reads -20Hg for me at idle (digital gauge), -18Hg when the compressor is on, and -22Hg when foot is off the gas on a downhill.

I wouldnt' worry about it being a problem with the idle dropping, just learn to compenste for it :)

Glad it worked out for you. Did you have any mods on the car when you brought it in? How was the service?

shaun

No other mods just the intake. The dealership was exceptional even though it did take 3 weeks to get my car back. I keep the engine spotless at most and it came back the same way. The radio was not even turned on. The only problem I had was getting to a gas station about 2 blocks away cuz my gas guage was wayyyyyyyyyy below the line and the light was on. It almost didnt start when I picked it up (guess that could have been my fault i really didnt know how much they would have to drive it to solve the problem and I only had just above a 1/4 tank). Other then that no complaints at all !! (2thumbs)
