...not mazdaspeed related per se, but Mazda related

So my mom's got a 2004 Mazda MPV V6 and sometimes when it rains overnight and is humid in the mornings when we drive it first thing, it runs rough and the CEL blinks. To me this is textbook misfire. Usually when it does this, we go home, let it chill for about an hour and then start it up and it runs perfect, but the CEL is on for a few starts afterwards and then clears itself leaving no code behind. My theory is something is wet and the heat from the engine dries it out?

What would be our next action? What needs replacing? Coils? Plugs?

Sorry for posting here, but the MPV board is DEAD!
Thanks a lot!

I would check and see what that CEL is referring to, cuz if you have a DH then it would just show up when your driving so you can know for sure what's the issue...I wouldn't try and guess it, but if I had to I would say your getting moisture on the MAP sensor and that's what causing it to do that.

This is on my mom's MPV...the minivan...no DH (dashhawk I think)

I'm thinking it's a misfire because it's done this 3 or 4 times now and we just had the car in the shop for an unrelated issue and they scanned the computer and there weren't any codes. So I don't think it's storing codes, just throwing a flashing CEL when it's happening. Does that sound plausible?
