Has anyone else wondered about the passenger airbag deactivation feature? The icon is almost always lit even when nobody is in the passenger seat, which I thought may have been a problem. I actually read the section in the manual and discovered that this is, in fact, the expected behavior...which drives me nuts.
If the seat is empty or occupied by a child (I think the weight threshold is 80 lbs. I read that somewhere else) the light is lit, which means any time you are driving your 6 alone or with just kids in the back seat, the light is on. If I see an amber warning light, I think something is wrong. I wish it would NOT be lit when the seat is empty. Can't the engineers develop the logic such that if the weight of the occupant is just a few pounds (someTHING in the pass seat) or ZERO pounds, the light does not need to be lit? Grrrr.
Here's the proof.
