Underdrive Main Pulley

Fits 2.0L motors. Because of their 15% reduced diameter and lightweight, energy normally used to turn the heavy stock pulley is now used to turn your drive wheels! In addition, the lightweight aluminum Indigo GT Pulley is a perfect choice for road racing ,drag racing and autocross due the reduction of water pump cavitation. Horsepower gains can vary widely with our lightweight aluminum pulleys depending on what has been done to the vehicle. Our kits come Complete with new belts.

Part Number PR-12163

$289:eek:

I heard something along the lines of UDP's being bad BC they aren't weighted correctly or don't have weights in them like stock ones do or some crap...and it can mess up your engine over time???

if our motor is anything like the ZETEC it is internal balanced. and the stock pulley doesnt have weight in them. but i dont really knwo anything about mazda motors. there are ZX2s that have had pullies on for 3 years now and have had no problems. as far as i knon most 4bangers are internally balanced so we shouldnt have to worry

Well, this is definately a mod I would be interested in. Easy to install. Seems like reasonable HP gains. And the dealership can't really b**** about it.
Like to see how those tests turned out with unorthodox.

The oem pullies don't balance the engine. They isolate vibrations created from either the engine or the accessories from each other. Whether or not this isolation is necessary is debateable.

Maybe that's what he was talking about...
