I dont see why we need any damn tubing whatsoever. I just ripped all that s*** completely of the intake side of my turbo.

Runs a little rough... but damn. Im stoked that I came up with this all on my own. You can thank me later.

i was thinking about just running open motor. Just take the exhaust mani and intake mani off and going for s***. I bet it flows good.
 
In all seriousness.... finally.. I hopped on to say I was gonna order the damn thing tomorrow. I got sidetracked with "car humor" when I saw 311 was at it again in the garage with his hammer out.
My biggest issue was whether to get the 2 or 4 inch... I just dont know how long Im gonna stay with the stock turbo.

Plus I still have the damn MS CAI. I was thinking Id just get theirs too. How big a deal is that MAF straightener on these short rams? Not a big deal right?

i would do a 2871r if I were you Randy. That turbo really is paired really well for this car. if you want any bigger just do the 3071r.. I think i want their fmic kit to. It seems to be a nice piece.

Yeah I was up at the shop today(bugging my guy about my pump)... and we got to talking about turbos again. I may order a kit shortly. On the other forum I was reading about a guy... CrazyItaliano... who blew his motor and attributed it to his turbo running to hard after it had been smoking bad.

My turbo smoked with just the Vibrant, and now its all over if the car idles for more than 30 secs. No good.

You think that could be affecting power a little somehow?

well anyway.... if i got to replace it. I might as well do it sooner than later.
 
I guarantee you this. His motor did not blow becuase is turbo was smoking. No ******* way. Had to be a bad tune. To much timing, not enough fuel, and heatsoak issues.

Yeah I agree.. turbo should be fine as long as its getting oil, right? I guess if it blew and friggin two quarts came with it or something then it might have. Anyway... he said Mazda was warrantying it and that was their explanation.

Had to be more than just the leaky seals though... if in fact it did play a role. Either way... I'll have something new in there by spring. I cant sit still right now with this car...

Speaking of deep pockets.... my wife wants a new Odessey(with the backup camera thingy). A 4th kid will get it for her too. Problem is shes backwards as hell in her MDX. Shes got 105k on the thing.. And shes torn the side of my garage up twice. Needs a little body work on the wheel well... She hit the garage door backing out and ripped the damn washer cleaner squirter off the back(shes got it though). Oil changes every 7-8000 if its lucky. i dont think shes washed it since we bought it. Smells like wheat thins and white grape juice. Ugh.....

I do love that hot mamma jamma though. Plus Im still laughing from earlier.... she sarcasticly asked me today if I was going to jump over a pool of sharks in my car. Nice...lol. She just doesnt get the "car" deal. but she keeps a good sense of humor about it.

dude i ordered that inlet pipe the day it came out....ive had the inlet for a while it runs decent idk if its 275 worth but i wont complain....i suggest u get it wit the elbow i have the cobb n it didnt i had to ghettofy it!!!

I really want to get the ATP inlet and do a solid dyno run to see how much power is gained from it-- that will put the $/power ratio debate to bed.

I'm thinking that the inlet pipe is not going to do as much as we hope unless the intercooler is replaced with something that flows better. You'll be pulling a restriction from in front of the turbo but there'll still be one right after.
I think the two together would make significant gains compared to either one alone. If I had the bucks, I would do both or neither.
 
ye i noticed a gain havent had time to dyno so wouldnt kno how much but nothing major id say ....its a b**** to install tho i mean like a big one the fitting isnt the best and if ur usin an aftermarket intake good luck my cobb didnt fit n im sure most wont bcuz the inlet whole on the intake size is bigger than stock therefore no intake would fit so if u order go with the yes i want the elbow option other than that idk if u wnna pay 275 i already did so w/e ....also if u have an aftermarket intake the inlet comes with two nipples one for recirc and the other the vacum sensor so th vacum would be pointles since most intakes come with that so order a billet plug they have to cover that.....again it was a slut to install but mayb i just suked at it.........oh n ye i guess it helped a little. OH one good thing there was a talk in the last thread for atp about that it will make it fuel cut bcz of the faster spool it will give the car b/s not cut!
