just venting

I have my mount sitting on my kitchen counter (thank God I live alone), my Forge valve sitting on my briefcase (it came today in the mail), and my intercooler is still not here. I can't do the mount until at least saturday, I can't do the intercooler until I do the mount (I guess they knock trim pieces on the cowling or something?), I can't do the Bypass Valve until I do the intercooler (I don't want that plastic shroud rubbing on my beautiful new valve) and on top of all that, I still need to change my oil. UGH I JUST WANT TO TAKE HER TO THE TRACK.

so what's the harm of going ahead and doing the mount? It's very satisfying and only takes like 5-10 min. That should hold you over til the IC comes in

I really want to get the oil change done and while walking into work this morning I remembered that they don't take canister filters. I have to go to mazda and get a cartridge. SWEET.

UGH.

oh well, the mount will go on when I do the oil change.

advance carries the pureOne that fits - also remember to get a filter wrench if your don't have one (14 flute 76mm-- may want to double check size)

oh good call on the filter wrench. luckily I'll be doing the work at a dealership and I can steal tools!

I'll check out advance for the filter element.

Or do yourself a big favor and get the the spin on filter conversion kit. Once you see what the poor filter looks like coming out of the canister, you will wonder why you waited. Spin it on and its done.

I've changed cannister filters before. I'm sure this is no different... just a bit messier than the spinners. I'm wondering how much the conversion kit weighs. I've been tossing the idea around. not sure how I feel about it yet.
