alright so i finished my whole system last week. kenwood deck, 2 jbl 6.5", 2 infinity 6x9", 2 10" jackhammers, two amps one 800 watts peak power other amp 1200watts peak power, today at work my boss gave me two boston acoustic speakers with tweeters, and well figuring i have them i thinking of putting them in the car, only problem is, where!!? Front doors have stock speakers in(changing this summer)(power commign from deck) i fitted the rear doors with the jbl(running on amp) and rear dash speakers(also on amp power) i can easily make boxes for the 6.5" speakers, but see if i were to do tht, only place to put them would be the trunk. but do you think it would make any difference at all? kinda wanted them up front somehwere to help out the front door speakers and give an even better sound. bassicly im wondering if anyone has any good ideas of where to put them.

thanks!

Don't just add speakers to add them. A cabin in a car is already a very difficult space to get to sound(stage) and image correctly. More speakers do not equal better sound. Also, NEVER pay attention to PEAK power ratting on amplifiers. It is a horrible marketing gimmicky approach to trick customers, and never do any of those amplifiers EVER, and I mean EVER hit that power. In the industry it is called ILS rating, not even "If Lightning Strikes" will the amp produce that wattage.

The best bet is to have just one great pair/set of components/active speakers up front and a sub woofer and nothing else speaker wise. Anything else will screw up staging and cause even more cancellation.

i know About peak power, its bassicly impossible to reach tht power, i was just saying to say, well the rason why i wanted to add those two speakers is to add better sound to the front since i have left the front door speakers stock until the summer. and they are kinda underpowered bc of the rest of power comming from back is triple what is from front. my question is, if anywhere, where would be a good place to add 2 extra speakers in the front o fthe car.

I would sell those speakers and upgrade the stock speakers. By adding more speakers and still having stock speakers, you are not really improving. It is not like a band-aid. :)

yeah, I'd sell them and get a set for the front doors. maybe a little 2 channel amp/crossover set too if you want better sound.

This is probably far too late to matter but why sell them? just use the ones your boss gave you in the front (http://www.msprotege.com/forum/show...stalling-different-sized-speakers-in-your-car).

As far as the rear speakers go I wouldn't dump them, definitely you want the stage at the front and not behind you but rear speakers still have their advantages. In my car I have speakers on the parcel shelf and rear doors, these are turned WAY down so most people sitting in the front don't even realize I have rears. But I find due to the positioning of the fronts the rears are necessary to rise and widen the stage, which they do pretty well. read (http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?118232-Rear-Speaker-Discussion) and make up your own mind.

I think you can put both the speakers at rear doors. I think you might not have speakers at rear doors. it will surely give you an additional enjoyment of sound.
