Hey All,

I was just wondering for those of us using a weighted TWM shift knob, what are you thoughts on likes and dislikes about it and which model are you using and why you choose this model..

I'm currently using a Type R @440g mated to their short shifter. what I really like about the knob is the weight...but what I don't like about it is it's small size. Yes there is a XL available now but from the pics on their site initially I thought it was the size of a stock knob.. I guess I should have paid more attention to the posted dimensions. Anyhow I choose the Type R knob because I used to have a Integra Type R.

I have the Big Type R and love it. It's heavy (~600 g) and similar in size to stock (but more hefty in the base). I love it, hasn't got too hot in the summer (sunshade and garage help). You're welcome to grab my knob in person...

... as well as the one in the car.

dammit that's what I wanted but now i'm stuck with what I have....oh well..maybe I'll sell it. also how do you feel about the weight? it's quite heavy and I would be afraid with a COBB weight it might be the same as having stock shift weight and stock knob..and I definately don't want that.

Stop by and drive it. I have the stock counterweight. Since we both have the same TWM short shifter and bushings, it's as close a comparo as you can get.

just might have to take you up on that. I ended up wrapping the knob with some "grip" material today and built it up a bit and raised it up 1/2" and it worked out really well so I'm very happy with the results! can't ask for more.

i used to have the (flt blk) desert eagle but sold it and replaced it with m1 abrams (stainless finish with shift pattern). i still have the twm classic and the voodoo knob just in-case i get tired of the m1.

sorry...no pix yet of the m1 abrams installed.

man I wish they would up some sort of vinyl coating on the outside of the knob to help it grip better and for temp. I guess they don't think of these things when they make them, cuz ah summer metal gets damn hot and hands sweat and winter it gets freaking COLD!

Wrap your purse around it first.

There are a number of people using our shift knobs, they are not chiming in at present. I have mine for several years and I absolutely love them. As I do not drive my car in the winter, I do not have an issue with a cold knob, but in the summer I have placed a cuzzi over the knob to keep it cool along with a sunshade inside the windshield. If you feel strongly about what you want, just shoot an e mail to us, sales@twmperformance.com. I have an older .44 Magnum in my cars, and I love the size, weight and the feel of that knob. The Desert Storm knob has replaced the .44 Magnum. I know that Team Sahlen is using the Big Type R in their Speed 3, with the Replacement Shifter Kit, all of the drivers love it!
