TWM MazdaSpeed 3 Short Shifter Group buy suggestion

I've been in on group buys before, we all have.

But they were organized by VENDORS. Do you know how that works? See, a manufacturer produces something at a cost of x, the sell to a vendor at a cost of x+y, then the vendor will charge their own cost, z. x+y+z=cost a consumer pays. But sometimes a vendor will lower the price of z...to drum up interest in a product or boost sales, it cuts into their profits, but not much.

The difference here is that the manufacturer is selling direct. They know what it will cost them to produce, and what to sell it at to be profitable. If they want to stay profitable, they'll stick to this price...because they're not stupid, and they want to stay in business.

My whole problem with this thread isnt the group buy aspect. It's the gall, the presumption, that some random guy can come on here demanding a lower price and thinking TWM will just go for it. The OP hasnt even talked to TWM to see if this is something they'd be interested in! That's the first step in a group buy: An individual secures a price from a vendor if a certain number of people will pay. They don't make up a price and expect a company to bend to their will.

If they wanted to sell them at the "suggested" price, they would.

Oh and I read what you said just fine. Rotus8 already answered that for me. :)

I am sure he realizes that, well atleast I would hope so. I just thought maybe it would act as a suggestion, nothing else.

Look here governor, somehow i don`t think selling more than 20 units in one go with a 35usd discount is exactly a cheap deal or low balling.209usd my friend, compared to other short throws for BMW`s and other Mazda3`s,is still an acceptable market price and we don`t pick those dolars off trees and enough rude advocating for vendors without their presence or remarks on the subject.I mean if they don`t want to sell it for the price i suggested then its fine,no need to spoil our ambitions and hopes.Help us get a good deal then, instead of triying to kill one.

Oh sorry excuse me here is an original Mazdaspeed short shifter for the Mazda3 for
Part Number: GRMS-8M-L11
MSRP: * $207.00

Look at the quality of this.

You can't compare this short shifter to other short shifters because they aren't the same. TWM explained in another thread how they came up with the price and why it was more expensive than even the ms6 short shifter.

Right now standard shipping shifter with bushings is $258.85. If they would agree to a group buy I don't see the price going under $220.00.

TWM have already offered this to the community at a discounted price, my name and lots of others are on their list.

I dont agree with this thread but this is still a free country, at least for now anyway.

So you didn't actually get the go-ahead from TWM to start this GB?

BTW...like someone mentioned they already offered a pre-sale for the SS kit at a discounted price, which ended at the end of August.

this thread wasn't a bad idea though trying to set your own prices wasn't the best way to go about it. if you want to drum up interest for a group buy go ahead and try but please leave the pricing up to the vendors i am closing this thread.
