Hahaha! My old thread lives again!! I just thought I would bring Lime Creek Road in Austin. Highway 2222 I think it is...

To get to route 5 go downtown and head out main street going east. It turns into Route 5. Main St. is one way heading west up until 12th street though, so don't try to head east until you're past that hehe. I've heard they've stepped up police presence there lately, though.

Old Gun Rd. and Otterdale Rd are both really good. Both are on Southside though. There are good roads out in Goochland but you have to watch for deer at night. Riverside Dr. is really fun as well, but it's pretty bumpy. Hit me up on AIM if you want directions to any of those roads.

I'd personally wouldn't post any of this. Esp. in So Cal. Most of the roads are getting burned because of these posts on the internet. all the new kids try to go out and they mess up causing accidents etc.

But most of the roads are burnt here anyways. Oh well.

Bumpish just to second this site. Motorcycle guys and the clubs they're associated with tend to know exactly where every single twisty road is nearby, along with the condition the road is.

nifty slideshow of needles Highway in SD (near Mount Rushmore) not really good for high speed though (suggested spped limit around some of the curves is 10 mph)

Interstate 90 through the rockies--coming from Montana going to Idaho.. a downhill stretch that you won't even need your gas pedal, but more fun if you do.. it was so fun I turned around to do it again.

Stove Prairie Road and CO-14 (Poudre Canyon Highway) northwest of Fort Collins, Colorado, great driving, great scenery. My brakes were getting angry by days end. They weren't quite smoking, but they were nice and faded. Anyone in the Northern Colorado area, shoot me a pm, I love cruisin in the mountains.

Taconic State Pkwy, NY. Nice, just 1/2 hr north of NYC. Be careful, though, esp. when wet! Just leave it on auto, and on the down grades, the tranny does a pretty good job of holding the gears, but sometimes it thinks its too smart when going uphill, and does not want to upshift at all, so manual on uphill works good if ur good w/ gearing ratios.

plus there are the 3 sisters out west. i think its county roads 335, 336, and 337. beautiful scenery, and a nice 50+ mile loop of nothing but curvy roads. not near as tight and techinal as lcr, but fun none the less. just gotta watch out for bikers

Hwy 666 in Arizona. A sheer drop on one side, cliff wall on the other with very few guard rails, just a superbly windy road!

Hwy 150 in Colorado, mountainous, windy, switchbacks and snow on the hillsides most of the year.

I run a "Deals Gap DragonSlayer" plate frame on the MSP6, transferred from my old MZ3 Hatch, which my son & I ran the road in. I can attest, its great fun in a car. Watch out for bikers, the cruisers run it pretty slow.

SECOND! Lime creek road is a great road, just ran it this morning.

Most of the roads around Fredericksburg are amazing.

(1) Montegomery/Roanoke Co. VA

Start: North Main St. (Blacksburg, VA)
Right onto Mt. Tabor Rd.
Right onto Rt. 311 to Blacksburg Rd.
Right onto North Main St.
Repeat

This is what us CCVT (Car Club of Virginia Tech.) members like to call "Taborgring"

(2) Montegomery/Giles/Roanoke Co. VA

Start: Rt. 42 (just off of 460 W just past VT near Giles/Montegomery Co. line)
Left onto State Road 658
Right onto Rt. 311
Right onto Rt. 42
Repeat

658 is rediculous - 1-1/2 lanes, no traffic, insane turns. Enough said.

(3) Montegomery/Roanoke Co. VA/Somewhere in WV
Start: see first step in (1)
Left onto Rt. 311
Continue straight until board/in WV
Turn around and do it in reverse

311 towards WV is a good mountain climb (two of them) each way. Definitely have to watch the breaks - mine have been smoking on more than one instance

(4) Montegomery/Giles/Roanoke Co. VA
Start: see first step in (2)
Continue straight on Rt. 42 until you hit 311
Turn around and do it in reverse

Very good high speed road. Few very sharp turns but enough banks and bends to still remain fun. I've hit well over 100 mph on this road and several CCVT members with Corettes have seen upwards of 160+ mph.

Just my donation. Most of these roads seldom see police. I have only seen police in one spot on 311, at a town (so you have to slow down anyway) however I've heard reports that police have been cited and seen giving tickets on 42.

People are more than welcome to check these out on Google Maps: zip 24060. You might have to zoom in quite a bit to see some of these roads.

If anyone is ever in town, let me know and we could take a little "cruise".
