TurboSmart Probems?? Or am I an idiot?

Ok so Im really confused right now... and Im really gonna try not to look or sound like a complete idiot. I just got my turbosmart dual port BOV today and from what I have seen in videos and in the instructions, things just are not adding up. Below are the pics of the actual BOV that I got. And Im just wondering if it can only be ran in recir mode cause there is no trumpet or anything for the sound of the pssshhh or what not to come out at. In the directions, it says that the big black hose clamp installs into something, well I have tried to install the black peice sticking out (very technical terms I know) into that clamp. But then I get no sound, even on full hard mode, the peice doesnt fit right, and the intake gets in the way of installing it. I have also tried installing it the other way, with the clamp (big black hose that went into the back of the stock BPV) not connected to anything, and letting the black peice sticking out be the trumpet part well the sound comes out. The part fits fine this way, doesnt fight with the intake box, I get a crazy awesome pssshh sound, the car flat out halls balls now and lose traction in 2nd & 3rd gear (didnt try 1st.. but im guessing it would if it did the other 2 gears), a s*** ton of pick up and go when boosting, and I really like it. But I have some big concerns about it this way as well, My check engine light came on (Havent disconnected the neg battery yet to see if it will go away), the car has massive boost cut in 5th gear only some of the time (where Ill be boosting and all of a sudden, theres a huge stutter for a second and then goes back to normal) where all the other 4 gears I have no problems with, and the car idles between 0 and 1000 RPMS mainly where the 3/4 mark would be if you look at the speedo. This is really the first time Ive ever installed a BOV and only my second turboed car. So please, if I am indeed an idiot, please let me down gently haha. Basically what Im asking is, should I leave it like it is and is what Im describing normal?? or do I need to purchase something else for it aka trumpet part for this thing to function correctly like it should. Ill try to have a video up in the next day or two so everyone can hear what Im talking about. Any help would be much much appreciated.

first im suprised that it didnt come with the "trumpet" part, second with the BOV did you turn it all the way to the recirc side because your in recirc only mode... if not try that cuz it is probably trying to vta but theres not hole to vent out of...
 
yeah I really have no clue about it anymore. I tried unplugging the negative battery terminal to see if the check engine light would stay off that way.. but nope.. 15 miles later.. came right back on. I have the BOV on the softest it can be on really. Its kind of weird, theres like a surging or sucking noise once I get into boost and right before the BOV goes off. I have a feeling that the BOV is fully VTAing right now in its current state even on the softest setting. Ill have videos of the sound that im talking about later on tonight.
 
nevermind works now weird...


anyways take pics of it installed I have this on mine and can help ya out... mines a dual port but still.
 
Thanks man.. I appreciate it. And it is a Dual Port... Like I replied to you on the other forum.. says TurboSmart Dual Port right on top of the adjuster peice.
