It's funny, or sad I'm not sure which yet. I had always heard about turbocharged cars, but had never driven one, or ridden in one until a couple of years ago when I drove my brother-in-laws srt4. I was immediately hooked, and started shopping for a car that was turbocharged, and was in my budget (around 25k). There were not a lot of choices out there, now it seems like everytime we turn around there's another one coming off the line.

welllllllllll look at a4's and a lot of volvo's and those cars in that link, they are all for like boosting the economy, not for performance.

Fuel economy! Smaller displacement engines producing V6/V8 power while getting much better mileage.

Bingo. It's a beautiful thing, that is, until the turbo goes bad and you curse yourself for buying a car with one couple-thousand-dollar maintenance part rather than a regular NA engine in which there is no part to go bad. (gah) See A4 drivers for example-the mazdaspeed3 does not fall into this category...it's just beautiful

I love turbos, but there are sometimes that a big N/A V8 is awesome just for the sound...my dad is going to order a '10 Audi S5 this weekend, and he really wants it to have the 4.2 V8. Audi is in the prices of switching to the new 3.0t(supercharged) and it's going to kick out the 4.2 from the S5. While it's a great motor, it just doesn't cut it in the noise department...

ugghh S5's to sexy. a black one almost ran me over in a cross walk on my campus. they are suppose to yield or whatever... anyways i should have let it hit me. i could have owned that car. =(

kidding of course.. but not really

yes, they are freaking awesome. Too bad they are diluting it with that soul-less 3.0t that they are putting in everything... they need to resurrect the 2.7TT. But...the new RS5 should be ~450 hp pulled from that 4.2, so that will be a beast...

I really love turbocharging... but it kinda sucks that it's becoming less of a niche thing and more of a mainstream trend.

have to agree here. But at least there will always be the legendary ones like the Audi 20V Turbo of the 80's, and the Audi 2.7TT, and even some of Porsche's offerings, and even the GTRs/WRX's/Evo's will one day be legenday... Oh yeah, almost forgot about the Bugatti

uuhhg, Please tell me the Nissan Juke will NOT make it over here.... That thing is hideous!!
Just like alot of Nissans resent vehicles.

so true.(Cube)(Altima)(Maxima)(Sentra)(Murano)(Titan)...hahaha pretty much the whole lineup except for the 370 and the GTR

I hate to do it, but I have to drag the GTR into it as well. Its the uggliest of all the GTR's Ive ever seen to be honest. I just love the R32 and R34 body styles best.

I like the R33 the best for some reason. Maybe its just me, but it seems to be more rounded off and not as square as the r32 and r34. Although I'd die to own any of them.

yeah, you have a good point. I personally really like the R33 if its been done cleanly. I guess the TT 480 HP engine kind of clouds my ability to judge its looks haha

The 2.7TT was legendary alright... I call down the gods every time I have to work on one...lol. At least the whole front of the car unbolts.

Yeah, I remember when having a turbo made you cool. I remember going to car shows with my NA eclipse and losing to hacked up POS cars just because they were turbocharged (and I'm talking stock turbo's, not some fancy custom work). Then I remember going back the next year to the same show, against the same cars, and winning because I did a turbo swap.

Bolting on a turbo kit or doing a turbo engine swap was like joining a secret club. Turbo's were like voodoo.

Not anymore.

Now if you don't make 700whp or you aren't compound charged or your car isn't the only one ever made you can't even get your car in an import magazine.

Hey, at least having a turbo still makes it alot more fun to drive.

About the GTR..... it's not so much the looks that kill it for me... it's the fact that it costs more than my HOUSE.

LOOKS LIKE f1 MAY GO BACK TO IT AS WELL

we may see 1.5 disi turbos making 650700 and la
