Turboed MP5's rule

then why is my boost gauge fluttering

grr!
Like I said before, you could be getting a boost leak thru your vacuum lines when you are boosting. Just not when you are idling. My only guess.

impossible the lines were replaced twice!

my guess is its the leaky wastegate, or its a bad boost gauge. I might say screw the mecanical an go with an electrical boost gauge instead. but again I will address the problem once the wastegate is replaced

also you suggested I clamp them down..

what do you suggest I clamp them down with? zip ties?
The smallest hose clamp you can find. I found some at Lowes in the plumbing section.

Matthew, there might be a pinch or crack in the little plastic line going from the T to the gauge. That was never looked at or adjusted. Also, when Patrick put the boost gauge in, there was a problem with the little flanged compression washer on that fitting. The problem likely lies in that area. The wastegate is NOT causing this problem. . .I don't know how many times you have to hear this. . .there is no way that the wastegate can fluctuate at the speed that needle twitches at. . .and even if it did, the pulses would be damped out by the time it got to the gauge. Hopefully this all works out for you in the end.

I need to figure out how to deal with my oil pressure better .. when I first start up the car, until it warms up it's sitting right at 80psi.. I literally can't rev or move the car at all until waiting 2-3 minutes, and even then I gotta keep it below 2k rpms or the oil pressure shoots up really quickly.

When warmed up though, at idle my oil pressure is under 20psi, and I thought I remembered reading that it should be at 35psi or so.

I still need to figure out if I should be running a restrictor fitting on my GT25R hmm.

Wouldn't adding the restrictor increase your pressure?

you would think?

cold start i'm at like 60psi
warm crusing 3k rpm...45ish
warm 4k rpm 50ish
warm idle 20ish

yep. Chris, send a PM to xelderx, I know he's discussed oil pressures in the FS-DE a few times since he's put the accusump in the car. I believe he'd be able to tell you what your start up pressures SHOULD be

Kensei I'm sure its fine, mine does the same thing at startup its 75-80 PSI when I'm warmed up at idle I sit at 15psi and while moving I raise between 35-50 psi.

So it's normal that I shouldn't be able to move the car for 3 minutes or so after starting it up. booooo that's no fun :P

No I must have missed it. I wasn't on the forums at all between 5ish yesterday and this morning... thought I caught up on the important threads but must have missed a few :)

not sure why you wouldn't be able to move the car.. my oil pressure sits at that PSI during a cold start I can move my car just fine, couldyou go more in depth as to why you can't move your car?

If I rev.. at all.. oil pressure shoots up to over 100psi. If I drive the car with the pressure over 80psi I swear I can smell oil o_O

I'm thinkin either I have too much oil in right now or that 10w30 is never a good idea here.. even when it was 60ish and I started it, the pressure was like that.

I have 4 quarts in right now.. stock oil pan, V6 626 filter.. wasn't the stock stock amount 3.7 quarts? or was it 3.4?

I'm not at all over F on the dipstick, it's not even quite at the F last I checked.
