Do anyone know if the dealerships are goin to sell the mazdaspeed turbo and do u know how much it's goin to cost

Most magazines I have read, as well as my dealer, have said that Mazda will NOT be selling the standalone turob kit. Any parts or replacements for the turbo system will require you to own the vehicle and exhange the faulty part for a new one. So your pal with the MSP can't go buy you a turbo kit :)

I wouldn't put it past Calloway to offer something though...and there are multiple other more powerful and complete kits out there from third parties.

Not to diss the Mazdaspeed turbo setup at all, but with the availability of multiple different good quality turbo kits out there now, it just wouldn't make as much sense to go with the Mazdaspeed one that just seems to be lacking in a couple areas for me anyhow. If it were a thing that would be covered under warranty then perhaps, but somehow I doubt that'll happen.

Well that is the whole idea of the Mazda USA. buying out Mazdaspeed. This way they offer after market parts that (if installed by the dealer) would be covered under the warranty. Just to let every one knwo that Mazdaspeed was a separate company untill 1 year ago.

Just a reminder, Mazdaspeed DID NOT engineer or design the turbocharger setup for the Mazdaspeed Protege...Calloway Cars USA designed, built and installed these kits. In terms of this car, the Mazdaspeed name is just the brand it will be sold under. Like on the MP3, Racing Beat and Racing Hart handled suspension, exhaust and wheels, and Sparco handled some of the interior details.

There is actually a question in the Mazdaspeed Q&A as to how the car can be called a "Mazdaspeed" if there are so few MS parts on the car. This Q&A, from Mazda, can be found in the Protege/MP3 section of www.racingbeat.com as a PDF file.
