So the used car I bought seems to be a nightmare, I did the timing on it and got it running. But I was hearing a very strange noise when I shut the car off ( metal grind )

I decided to take off the intake pipe to the turbo and well the video says it all :(

So i'm in about $1000 and i'm not sure if I want to continue..the car is in fair to poor condition, has about 173,000 km's. It needs tires struts brake work new windshield among other things.

So my question to you all, where can I find a replacement turbo for this thing? Any cheaper aftermarket alternatives and the stealership is not an option for me as I heard 3k for an oem replacement.

Thanks

and here is the video link :(

There is at least one OEM gt2554 in the marketplace for sale right now. And there is one on eBay for 300 bin. I'm probably selling mine soon with 50k miles on it. You could go with a godspeed gt2871r that's about 200-400 fish bucks but I think you need slim fans mod the actuator bracket and something other than the stock plastic pipes/intercooler. So used is the way to go.

Struts aren't cheap if you replace with the tokicos (all 4) I think kyb makes some el cheapo ones.

I had a look on both ebay and the marketplace before and I didn't see it? Would you mind posting links?

If your not sure if you want to keep it, get a Godspeed journal bearing t25, runs about $200 new but they only last 10-15k miles before needing a rebuild which costs $100

Thanks for everyone's suggestions, I picked up the used turbo and manifold from ebay for a reasonable price.

While i'm replacing parts should I be replacing any orings or gaskets on the turbo side of things? Thanks
