I need to know these things to get a better idea on what to get.

Oil: What is the best oil to get and grade with the turbo setup?

Cooling liquid: what kind of cooling/anti-freeze is best on a turbo car?

More ? to come... Thanks everyone!

i think most protege turbo kit people are running 15w-50. I use mobil 1.

I also have water wetter added to my coolant.

15w-50 is WAAAAAYYYYY to heavy of an oil. That would be used in a car with well over 75k miles. I would recommend 2 changes of 5-w30 dino juice, then switch over to a full synthetic. :D

I personally run a 0-w30 oil. :D

boostisgood is right. I worked in a garage with a quick lube and all of the turbo customers kept asking me this question (mainly because my name tag said "turbo"). Thinner the oil the better. The more it flows the more heat it will pull away from the motor. If you stay with a dino-oil I would use Valvoline 5W20. If you want a synthetic try Royal Purple 5W30 or similar synthetic. I like royal purple because of their hp increase claim. I can't tell a lick of difference, but I'll be damned if it's not 100% man made oil. Most synthetic is a blend. natural oil with synthetic additives. Check out royal purple's website for more info.

As for coolant. I personally use a bottle of redline in the stock mix. On my SHO race car I used 100% disstilled water with redline and a lower temp thermostat. that car would never heat up! The heater never worked after hat!!

Hey Ghost I have a spool kit and Terry recommended 5-30w
Mobil 1 synthetic so that what I been using. Now as far as antifreez I'am still using the factory anti and the temp is always below the half way mark in the summer so I think as long as you use the right mixture I'll be ok.
Good luck on boosting.

I use 5w-30 synthetic. Its only going to get colder up here so theres no way I could run zero weight :)

as for coolant, good old PEAK antifreeze for me.
