Turbo Protege SE 1.6L Build

Gonna post pictures and updates of my process with my turbo build, collecting parts rn and gonna try to post how to do the whole thing while being broke. Seeing too many people want to turbo it but nobody ever doing it or referencing some obscure 2003 forum guy so yeah.

Gonna use the mazdaspeed protege turbo garret t25 since I'm getting a good deal on it, got a new and bigger rad and new clutch. im missing a few things and gonna need to modify a manifold abit.

If anyone has some insight or questions feel free to ask! Gonna be a pretty long build process so ill write what i do piece by piece most probably…

Ive been thinking about alot of stuff and doing an K-Swap is alot more viable for what i want to do. I researched abunch on turboing the engine and the power just seems too limited. Ill make sure to make an guide on K-Swapping the protege fully !. If u have questions on turboing the protege feel free to ask tho, looked into it and got abunch of parts for it but just didnt seem worth it for my goals with the car.
( and ive had some talks about making an custom adapter plate for the tsx trans to an 13B )

Dude those welds look great !
You should make an jig for the manifold and sell it, you could make an lil amount of money out of it seriously. All the manifolds for the 1.6 seems to be extinct if u dont buy an 3 grand kit that im not sure is even real . I would recommend u take photos of everything and make an guide on the forum and repost it on the reddit, would be an MASSIVE help to the community and you could maybe make those underated 1.6l an small powerhouse for cheap !

Well most people stray away from it because of the lack of... well, what your doing.
If u made an guide running through everything and offering the parts to do so im sure an lil community can be built because the 1.6 is everywhere, some mx6 guys would probably look into what your doing too !
The amount of money it wouldve took for me to make it do the power i want and have the flexibility of different maps and hondata tuning made the k-swap an better choice but the 1.6 is very stout for its size and im sure can handle some solid power if built the right way, an budget turbo for it would surely make it attractive for people looking to get some power on an budget and get sum fancy turbo noises !
