I havent been going into boost lately but today i tried to, and nothing happened. I dont produce any boost, and the turbo is leaking oil. Is the turbo seized up? Did an oil seal fail? Im not too sure what I should do and if i should keep driving on it.

Thanks guys

maybe check all connections to intercooler you may have a leak or ur turbo is ******

if the pipes wernt connected for ic, then he would stall.. and car wouldt run basically.. he's leaking oil... turbo might be blown, sorry guy :O

where does the turbo leak oil?

Take the intake pipe off and check for shaft play, even if there is shaft play it should make something, unless it has so much play that the inducer is wore down to nothing. You could have broken the shaft, the bearings could have siezed, there are a few reasons why it isn't making boost. take the time and do some wrenching and you should find out the problem

update. one of my couplers was blown off that i didnt see before. i reattached it and the turbo spools now, makes boost. this still doesnt explain the leaking oil. i drove around on the blown coupler for 2 days so maybe that had somthing to do with the oil? i dont know

turbos usually leak oil from internal seal failure. the seals go bad from too much oil feed pressure, and other times from wear. a bushing style turbo likes to see about 7 psi of oil pressure. any more than that is hard for it to handle. if you are running a ball bearing turbo, you want even less. BB turbos require a restrictor. Depending on size, a gt30 BB turbo: .030" restrictor is right. For bushing turbo, your hose size can help regulate by not going over AN-4 or 1/4". not sure about your set-up, so advice is hard to give to remedy the problem.

one explanation could be that you are getting massive amounts of blow-by from the valve cover vent. did you check that hose? Send me a PM. I can help you troubleshoot this.

this is not true. the car would still run, but obviously without boost. the maf would be freaking out from the massive boost leak, but the car does not require the turbo to run.

aha well i say maybe if ur turbo is leaking oil check the oil cooler line on the side of the turbo cuz every msp with t25 turbo starts leaking from that cooler line eventually there is a gasket that leaks and the whole line gets ****** mazda sells the updated oil cooler line

...

my old turbo was leaking oil but it still spooled an gave power, i had to replace cause i didnt want to take chances later on down the road. an it was a good thing i did cause the whole thing was hashed...
