I want to piece together a turbo kit for my car and i need to know if this turbo & manifold will work

Garrett Turbo

This Auction is for a Garrett Turbo.

"I bought a complete twin turbo setup for a Porsche 911. It came with a pair of Garret turbos, this being one of them, so it is used, but is in very good shape. Nearly zero axial play and only a small amount of radial play. I do not know much about this unit.

The compressor housing is a A/R .5 and the turbine side is a .48 housing.

Thanks Ed"

there is alot more to turboing a car than just a turbo and a manifold. the manifold you are bidding on will require that the power steering lines be adjusted. you will also need to consider engine management, oil and coolant lines, intercooler, blowoff valve, piping, hardware. there is alot that does not work on these cars as it does on others, so be sure to read up in the forced induction section before buying anything.

i'm aware there is more to it then just the manifold and turbocharger, but i was wondering if this would work, what kind of manifold would you recommend i use?

ideally i'd get the parts to do a mazdaspeed protege style setup;

thunder turbo manifold
gt28rs
MSP radiator
MSP condensor
intercooler kit for the MSP
oil and coolant lines
exhaust downpipe for the MSP

all of this can be sourced new or used from members here and will require much less custom work

Thanks ! Very much appreciated, but does this mean that turbo i have posted there would be useless?

After having been around a number of these eBay Chinese "stainless steel" manifolds for various cars, I can easily say they are crap. Primarily, the material used is very rarely stainless. Secondly, the likelihood of them cracking is quite high.

Be warned, you get what you pay for.

would the obx turbo manifold work there inplace of the thunder turbo manifold?

no, why you would want to use an obx manifold in place of a better thunder manifold is beyond me

yes, sorry

it seems you are trying to do this on a budget. i'm going to warn you fair, not to be mean, but if you source your kit parts from the cheapest ebay sources, expect rapid failure and poor performance. you get what you pay for when it comes to stuff like this, and using junk parts rather than spending a little more to do it right will not only waste time and money, but you will easily find a way to blow this engine to pieces.

i think it would be easier to just keep your radiator, and get a FMIC from CXracing on ebay. i know its ebay, but i have had no problems with mine, and it fit really good. came with a bar and plate intercooler, 2.5'' piping, type-s bov, and all the crap to put it on. mine required a little bit of cutting, but it wasnt very hard at all. pm me if you want help to do it that way...

So Far i have a CXracing FMIC, MSP ECU and a Thunder Turbo Manifold and am planning on getting the Corksport downpipe and the gt28rs turbocharger, can anyone tell me what else I will need ?

you may consider the heat dissipation, its important to turbo car.

Is that FMIC is that a kit you bought? or did you have to piece together the kit?

u could buy the stock msp oil feed off someone on here and then just use an afermarket braided line and drain the turbo straight to the oil pan, thats how i plan on doing it
