Turbo lag

So i bought my 03' speed protege in september perfectly fine had a few mods and im pushin about 10 psi, and iot was perfectly fine until recently. But my question is when i get on it in second gear and sometimes in 3rd, when i get to about 6000 rpm's my turbo lags in both gears. So i tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery and it made it not as bad buts its still there. has this happened to anyone before? Or does anyone know how to fix it?
I plan on getting it tuned again, i just need to find a Mazda tuner in SLC, UT. Can anyone help?

What do you have to tune the ECU? I don't know of a way to retune the stock ECU without a piggyback controller or standalone ECU. I doubt your problem is lag, these turbo's are too small to have noticeable lag, it's probably a wastegate or boost leak issue.
