Turbo kits for my little Protege 1.6L

yep, differant bell housing and trq convertor.. if i am not mistaken, the mazda3 uses the same one too..

Sounds like an option, except that I'm based in Taiwan! No lentech here I don't think.

Anyway, Made some mods in the past few days, got some 17" rims and new tyres. Next would be to look into my header...I know Thunder is based in Taiwan so....yippee!!

One Q though for all, I know it's been posted over and over, and even with all the reviews about CAI's, I'm still thinking of getting one. Is this really a total waste of money becasue of the hesitation, or would you gurus, say it's actually ok?

if you just want the sound.. go for it.. if you want a lil less sound and more power.. just use the airbox with nothing attacthed to it.

Do you mean by just taking off the front snorkel? and just having the upward bent part? Pics would be helpful :) ..Thnx

would that not have a negative affect? cause it's mostly hot engine air in that area, right? isn;t that one of the negatives about having a sri?

That turbo kit looks pretty good to me. It's not very flashy and doesn't have the same level of quality as a MAM or HiBoost kit, but it's damn cheap.

$2699 gets you a fully functional kit w/ FMU
$2949 gets you a fully functional kit w/ eManage and fuel pump

That's a lot cheaper than the MAM kit, which is well over $3000 and doesn't have any EMS or FMU. The HiBoost kit includes that stuff, but costs $4000.

Has anyone actually used this kit? Is there any downside to it?

hey tampasport, thanks for the offer, but after reading all about turbos and AUTO trannies, it doesn't seem like the turbo is for me at the moment. I have an auto....dang! it is a pity that you're selling though, and good luck to ya!

By the way, i've done some mods to my car in this past week:
17" RM rims
SS 595 205/40/17 tyres
TIP Lowering kit
Stone Racing Development header and cat-back exhaust (yummy)
Simota Carbon Charger Intake system
Summit Strut

Next up:
New calipers
