Turbo kit for MP5

Hey...has anybody had any experience (positive or negative) with the various turbo kits available for the "5?" I'm working on potentially installing, and would like any feedback. Reliability? Completeness of kit? Driveability? (Relative) ease of installation?

Thanks in advance!

We have a whole section on this stuff. Don't you think it's kind of silly to ask a question like that? This has been covered about a thousand times so please make this your first to do when you don't know the answer to something.

Learn it use it love it

Ouch. That was pretty harsh. Only treat ricers like that :-) I'd never been involved in a forum before this one and I made that mistake too. We don't want threeer to get the wrong impression.

i've got the wagnermotorsports.net turbo kit on my car...this weekend we are finally putting on the piggyback ecu to control fuel and timing

check out the site as he's got lots of pics of the kit and some of me at the track working it in

:wtf:

nice...and here I thought all this time that MP5 owners were of the "kinder, gentler" nature. With friends like that...

I love my Perfworks ( now Modern Performance Inc. ) Turbo Kit
No CEL, starts/idles fine, no stalling, no running pig rich. Everything feels just like stock, exception being the accelleration!

Don't get a bad impression from one person! We are all very nice and very helpful. This is a great board with tons of info, vendor support, and expert advice:D

melicha8, try to be "kinder,gentler"

You may not like his wording but its good advice.
Either way this section is the wrong one for such a question. YOu will get far more attention and usful answers in the FI section.

I have what is now called the Flyin' Protege Stage One kit

www.fmprotege.com

very tested, very solid. went for a drive last night and really opened her up, put nothing but smiles on my face. no fuel management other than the FPR yet, but once FM comes up with one I'm going to go with it unless Spoolin can adapt his for my setup (hint hint...) :)

as for the "search" buttonm theres nothing wrong with pointing anyone to it, but lets not be an arrogant ass about it, k?

Captain is FM still being silent about there progress ont eh fuel management unit? Also what PSI are you running with noost and fuel?
What octane fuel?
Sorry to be noisy but with my car hopefully off of block soon I need an idea of where to keep it.

you'll have to translate what 'noost' is :) kidding

I am right now just running 6 psi to keep it safe and sound. FM feels that I can run 8 psi now without a problem - but I want to wait on that. I am running 93 octane fuel, on which the car runs GREAT. I had to lean the FPR out a 1/4 turn last night to smooth out the trip to redline - you could smell gas from the exhaust and I was just running way too rich.

FM's fuel management will control all ignition and fuel. They conservatively estimate that on stock internals and pump gas you can run 12 to 14 psi.

But do they have an estimate of when the damn control peice will be available?

Sorry to be a pain in the ass mod, but we are trying to clean up all the forums to make it easier to search for items, and less cluttered. In the future, please post in the appropriate forum...example - Intakes, dispite being for the Protege5, belong in the performance section. Buying a carbon fiber hood for your Protege5 belongs in the Appearance section. If you raced someone in your Protege5 it still belongs in the Racing/Motorsports section. If you have any questions, comments, or complaints, feel free to PM me at any time.

Thanks again for your patience as we clear up the forums to make it better for you!

Off to the forced induction forum.
