Turbo glowing..primary fan not turning on

My turbo overheats any time I am in boost for a short period of time. I've noticed the primary fan (passenger side) hasn't been turning on. Is there a way to check if my fan is bad? Also, could I have a bad relay? I've already checked the fuses and all is good. Since my fan isn't turning on, that could be a reason why my turbo isn't cooling properly correct?
Thanks in advance for all the help. 2011-03-29_23-50-04_753.webp

Try jumping across the relay socket and see if the fan kicks on. If it does, replace the relay and you should be good. If not, you've got a wiring problem; grab a voltmeter and check for power and ground.

does your a/c work? i found out recently that my condenser had a hole on it, causing my fan not to turn on

that fan doesnt turn on unless you have the AC on, and it actually works like j naoto said
the only fan that kicks on when your car is getting hot is the drivers side

think about the amount of heat a turbo produces in boost. Most turbo cars I have seen will cause the exhaust components to heat up and create a red/orange glow. if your turbo is glowing because of a cooling issue, you have bigger things to worry about and Im pretty sure your head gasket would have been long gone.

sounds like you might have a clogged cat thats the only thing i know of that will make a turbo glow like that

I'm going to check the exhaust this weekend... I noticed this after I had a shop replace my turbo to exhaust manifold gasket and was thinking maybe the coolant lines to the turbo could be clogged? Also when this occurs my coolant begins to boil over

My temp gage hasnt moved at all in any of these occurances. At idle, the car is sitting at -16 inHg so I'm thinking there may be a vac leak somewhere as well. It also feels like the car is misfiring and has a huge loss of power. But this is intermitten, and it seems to run more normal in the higher rpm range in 3rd gear and up.
