Can anyone tell me the difference between the ball bearing and the wet float bearings, and other types of turbo bearings? I'm looking at getting another turbo but really not sure what the real difference is. Tried searching but didn't find anything. Thanks.

ball bearing SEEMS to be faster spooling.. so less lag..

but imo, also seems to be less durable

for the less lag part, size does matter.. like other things ;)

Price and hype ;).....Ok so the BB turbos spool a few hundred faster but are you a race car? Is it REALLY gonna matter to guys like us? I'm pretty sure one can compensate with the right tuning for the spool. The cost of a chra is almost like getting a new turbo ( almost). Jounral bearing: EASILY repuildable, a kit will cost right around $200 and can be done locally. They can also take more abuse......but hey, do your research

A journal bearing turbo can take more abuse?? I've always thought the opposite..

With that being said, I'm 99% certain my replacement will be a journal bearing.
