my question to the speed6 gurus out there is, has anyone out there ever tried tuning on e85? i know a bunch of ppl here in houston that have done the switch on their cars and have been running great. i know that for the conversion you need bigger injectors and a tune to run e85 and i was just wondering that since we run direct injection if it wouold be possible to run e85without having to moddify our injectors. if no one has tried it i guess i can give it a shot just to see if i can make a few more horses running on corn.

Fixed your title so it makes more sense.

I know of people who have tuned other cars for E85, but noone with the MS6 specifically. I'm sure a shop could do it, since E85 is a higher octane than reg. premium gas is.

I seem to remember an issue with E85 and the OEM fuel pump in the tank along with some seals that went bad (I remember some stories from a trusted Mazda tech). If you were to address those issues, you could potentially get really good performance from E85 as the "octane" rating was something like 105 or something. Your MPG would definately not be as good as on regular gasoline though.

yea u need to upgrade the seals and the fuel lines since e85 is corrosive, at least more then gas is

i heard that the new cars are built to resist corrosion anyways since there is a small percent of ethanol in all gasoline anyways but i would do it just to be safe

You can run e85 if your car is stock, there are no issues as far as I know although injector and CDFP longevity may be compromised.

I wouldnt recommend it for a modded car at all because the injectors cant keep up with the larger fueling requirements of e85.
