Tune needed for my mods?

Well, I'm getting decently bolted on the car (mods listed) and I was wondering if it is alright for me to rune tuneless with the mods? I've been talking to a couple subie friends and they swear by a tune after they go catless (quicker spooling and what not on their 2.5L). if anyone wants to chime in go ahead! the more information the better

looks like money isnt your main concern, if i were you i would buy an AP. A tune may not actually be needed but why not complete your setup.

My mods are similar to yours but i have the AP (just havent installed it yet, maybe if i get some time over xmas).

there are people who run similar mods w/ out any type of tune or flash. it will likely be safer and give you the full potential of your mods.

look into the piasani tune....good stuff.

Hears the thing , if your car is uncatted you will need a fuel pump just to be safe but nothing else. If your car is catted you do not need anything else
cause the ecu will adjust enough for those mods, just give it time to adjust
the fuel trims it'll take about 1000miles of driving so dont get on it to hard.

Adding anykind of engine management can only make it better.
COBB AP, CP-E STANDBACK, or PIASINI

you dont need no stinkin tune ! i am well modded and run 20psi with AFR's in the 10's all day long. safe as can be !

do you have any smoking from your car tru-boost? I also have the corksport dp and I'm just hearing that smoking is almost inevitable with this dp :*(

very rarely i do get smoke. i got it bad on my staock turbo even catted. now i am catless and have the PG reworked k04. i have seen it smoke only a few times. once the day i installed the new turbo. once after a few dyno pulls. and once just a few days ago after driving the car for the first time in 3 weeks. i have it put away for the winter and it had been sitting so long in my cold garage the battey was dead. i jumped it, drove it a few blocks and then let it sit and idle for a while. it smoked pretty good. i have noticed from last year as well that the smoking seems to be much worse in the cold. i dont know why ?!

use fuel stabilizer. anyway i just bought an 09 MS3. am i safe from the bad turbo batch that i keep hearing about. i dont wnt a smoking turbo

Turbos have been smoking on every single year so far... 2007, 2008, 2008.5s. I haven't heard of a 2009 smoking yet

I've been worried about this smoking problem from mine, but I don't know why everyone is freaking out so much? I mentioned that I was having smoke coming from my car so I had my father check it out (he is 58 years old and has built cars from the ground up in his days) and he said the smoke looks to be normal as I only have the smoke on cold days. I had been getting a decent amount where I go to school (been in the 20's and the school is in the mountains) and I came home for christmas break and I had a very LIGHT puff of smoke yesterday as it was 40 degrees...and after the car was warmed up, it was gone. I noticed as I was driving around yesterday, almost every car I had seen driving around had the same color smoke coming out of there tail pipes and would make me think this is normal and people are freaking out over nothing? Correct me if I am wrong. My father explained it as the cold air hitting the hot temps of the exhaust, especially since its a turbo and whats resulting is the white smoke/steam coming from the exhaust. After the car is warmed up, I don't have smoke. So this would lead me to believe that's all it is, right? Oh and for the record, I switched to 10w40 oil last week.

the difference is the smell, if you smell oil, it's oil, not water vapor. Our cars bur a minimal amount, and the cats normally take care of this, until you take them off. I have no cats and have a little oil smoke myself - and I even have a new sealed KO4 turbo and it still does it a little. It's no big deal, and if you change your oil on regular intervals, you aren't going to lose enough to matter or be measured as low.

what kind of numbers are you pulling now?

... I want to get the reworked k04 and was wondering if it was safe without any tune or even mbc and map clamp
