TRZ or ********** MOUNT...!

I have the SU mount which I just installed last weekend and love it. Vibration isn't bad at all unlike my SRT4 mounts. Theres a little at ideal and with AC on but thats it. Once I pass the brake in that may even go away. Shifting is so smooth and the car just feels really solid.

in my opinion, the trz is the best mount out there. I have the derlin on my car, my car doesnt vibrate bad at all, if anything i dont even notice it

it not just a bushing that is inserted into the stock mount. Its a completly new design. One you see it in person you will like it as well

yeah, 'loosh is right, the quality of the trz mount is absolutely top notch, and once you get everything installed and punch the gas... nothing else will do.

Also, the TRZ delrin is the stiffest mount available.

The AWR have been known to tear (both of them)

The ********** mount I beleive is more expensive.

I don't think the CS inserts are bad at all, I just like the added stiffness of the TRZ.

... I grabbed the mount and moved it back and forth / side to side a bunch and I could hear the metal inner bushing hitting the delrin outer bushing. So, I pulled out the mount, and with some help from speed3shon managed to place a small strip of duct tape on the outside of the metal bushing so that it sat nice and snug in the delrin bushing. Put it back in, wiggled it around, no more noises. Started up the car, and it was like night and day in terms of both vibrations and annoying noises. The car was just.... awesome ...

I'm confused because in one post you say the mount sucked until you fixed it, and in another you say it's the best.

I was not aware that products of top-notch quality required re-works and modifications of their own in order to work properly.

My Poly has been perfect... No re-work or mods.
Slapped it in, in 10 mins... Been perfect ever since!!!!

A lot lighter than stock too...

I put the solid mount that ptp sells in my car and the car vibrates alot just off of idle. Feels like it eliminates wheel hop but until i go to the track I wont be able to tell if it helps my 60fts. I think it feels cool now that Im used to it. Makes the car feel not so soft, if you how what I mean. LOL

I've tried both the fully solid and their poly fill mount from PT-Performance. I have to agree that car does feel cool. With the fully solid mount there are definately vibes, and while I enjoyed how the car felt, it did not pass the g/f test. So John sent me one with a poly fill, and it's just a 3/8" ring of poly set into it, and it really smoothed out the vibes. Both of the mounts are really good, but since this is my daily driver the poly worked best for me.

I originally had the SU mount but the bushing tore. Now I have the AWR 88. Hopefully I won't have to try the TRZ!

Call them they have had a few tear. BUT they are lifetime warranted. So I'll have two good mounts.

I apologize for the inconsistency. Thanks for catching this. Allow me to elaborate a bit.

When I opened up the box with the TRZ mount in it and pulled it out, the first thing I noticed was the quality of the welds, the powder coating, and in general just how clean and simple and functional it looked.

Once installed, i was hearing some noises from down below, which I later identified as the inner bushing moving around. I posted up about it, and it seemed as if most people were not experiencing this problem at all. (read laloosh's review of the product) However, other than some really annoying noises, I was very happy with the mount. Performance wise i didn't notice too much of a difference until I put the stock mount back in, then it was night and day, I had to have the TRZ in there, it just drove too nicely. The vibrations weren't bad, its just that it was making a lot of noise.

So, yes, right off the bat the mount was great, but the noises were annoying and since it is marketed as a race mount, I was expecting this. I didn't originally intend to use it for daily driving, but so many people had said that it wasn't bad for daily driving that I decided to investigate, and if possible, improve it. Maybe mine had an issue not experienced by many other people with the mount, maybe somehow I messed up the installation, who knows, but the epoxy fill solution fixed every minor complaint I had about this thing, now it is PERFECT.

I absolutely love the improvements I've gotten from this mount, yes I was frustrated with the noise at first because nobody else seemed to be having that issue, but thats fixed now.

And what makes the design so much better? Please show that it is a stronger mount. What difference does weight make in this situation? I love it when people state their opinion as if it were fact.

Well, if you want a fast car...weight becomes an issue. Coming from the Miata world...the lighter the car...the quicker it was. Simple theory!!!
Why is everyone now looking for lighter wheels? More power the pavement as opposed to wasted energy trying to spin weight...

Though, I will agree with you that the weight savings of this mod is minor...but a little here and a little there over time amounts to significant weight.

As to the design/strength issue... I have no stress data to present.
But a simple observation of the OEM vs TRZ design will show you the advantages of the TRZ design. Maybe the fact that I'm an engineer, its easy for me to see the advantages.

First, the stock dampener (rubber) is soft. You can easily flex it with your fingers. The OEM design, has the opportunity for tearing and overtime the rubber will definitely deteriorate (through cycling). Regarding the actual structure of the OEM mount, as you can see, its a hollow design with approximately 6 weld spots which again could fail under extreme demands; plus the material used on the stock mount is thinner than TRZs...

Over course this is all speculation and testing is needed to prove these theories...

These are my personal obervations...and I'm pretty qualified person to make these judgments. I only state them as an opinion, you can take that with a grain of salt...
