Trying to find info about a new SRI

I have searched CAI and SRI with no results. I can't believe there are no threads. But anyway... since my black plastic intake tube is dry rotting like everybody else's, I want to put a SRI on it. I've been looking at them and it seems simple enough, but I don't see a MAF bracket or section on any of them. Do I just use the old one? Is that what everybody does?

the maf is just the little black tube thing. i just bought a tube from autozone and cut it then used the rubber silicone connecters to connect the tube to the tb and maf then ran the filter straight off the maf. 75 bucks and about an hour total made a small difference imo most people say otherwise but my butt dyno and timed 0-60 says it makes a small difference i wouldnt buy an k&n kit or anything like that for an sri just spend 20 bucks on an ebay tube and buy a k&n filter and itl be the same

HAHA i JUST BAUGHT A BRAND NAME FILTER AND PUT IT DIRECTLY ON THE STOCK TUBING... FROM WHAT i HEAR AROUND HERE IT DOES EXACTLY THE SAME THING HAHA

not sure how to post pics but I can text em to you if you want,(and dont worry i aint no creepy stalker dude haha) if u want send me ur cell number in a pm

or just thaught of this... I can text em to my email and then forward them to yours

The MAF is the flat rectangular box mounted just before the filter box with a 3 wire electrical plug connected to it. The MAF housing also has a square screen to direct laminar air over the sensor. It isn't something that would be easy to make from scratch.

Yeah, except there are dry rot cracks in mine between the ridges in the accordion part of the tube. I have read on here recently a bunch of people have been tracing idling and surging problems to that. So I have to replace mine.

This is the MAF housing I'm talking about.

Looks like this guy just used the old one. That answers that question.
