Trunk release won't work.

The trunk release from the inside of my car is busted, I pull on it and nothing happens. I can hear it trying to pop the trunk but it just won't do it. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Just noticed it last night, guess I need to take a warranty trip to Mazda.

or get inside the trunk and look for the glow in the dark thing

i've trapped a couple of people in my trunk b4.. and the E-trunk pull works just fine! lol

Mine did this too! Check the latch where the trunk closes with the rest of the frame. Pull down the little thingy, you'll see it.


(Yeah, actually thingy is the best way to put it after working a 12 hour day and having another tomorrow.. SO TIRED.)

There is a little flip switch on the latch itself. It is yellow on mine. I always flip mine down to disable the trunk release lever in the cabin. There are also levers on the back of your seats to disable the seats folding down. I make it so the only way to open the trunk is with a key.
