The latest TrueDelta Vehicle Reliability Survey results have been posted. These are for the year ending September 30, 2007.

For the 2006 Mazda5, I have an average of 5.0 months of data on 27 cars - so no more asterisk! The stat of 44 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year (0.4 per vehicle) is now better average for a 2006 model, and a major improvement compared to earlier this year.

This suggests that Mazda has addressed some initial problems, notably with clunking in the front suspension.

For the 2007 Mazda5, I have an average of 6.5 months of data on 11 cars. This is an insufficient, very small sample size, so the result is asterisked. The stat of 34 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year (0.3 per vehicle) is better than average for a 2007 model. Though the sample size is small, the similarity to the result for the 2006 suggest that it is reasonably accurate.

Everyone who has been helping out with this research, thanks, these results wouldn't have been possible without you. Thanks also to the support of Antoine and MazdaForums. Those who aren't yet helping out, I hope you'll consider doing so. It would be nice to get rid of that asterisk.
