The latest TrueDelta Vehicle Reliability Survey results have been posted. These are for the year ending June 30, 2007. Late responses could lead to further changes, but these are unlikely to be large.
For the 2006 Mazda5, I have an average of 4.7 months of data on 18 cars. This is an insufficient sample size, so the result is asterisked and (except for here) is only visible to site members. Anyway, the stat of 56 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year (0.6 per vehicle) is about average for a 2006 model.
This is lower than last time, suggesting that Mazda has addressed some initial problems, notably with clunking in the front suspension (three cases reported).
I only had ten responses for the 2007, so I won't be releasing a result at all. I will say that the repair rate appears to be lower than for the 2006, further suggesting that Mazda has addressed initial problems.
Very much need more Mazda5s, to get rid of that asterisk next time on 2006 and provide a result for the 2007.
Everyone who has been helping out with this research, thanks, I literally couldn't have done it without you. Those who aren't yet helping out, I hope you'll consider doing so. It would be nice to get rid of that asterisk.
