*so side note, head was rebuilt so we disassembled everything and today put everything back on, timing was a l)ittle off but still went ahead *

As I tried to start it for the first time it cranked but didn't turn on, I kept cranking and finally the casing above the air filter just blew lol(smash), any help on why this happened and why it probably just cranks?

If the timing is off lots of crazy things can happen, and it will not crank over. What do you mean when you say the intake blew off?

fixed the timing still same thing, cranks but doesn't turn on. as I was cranking the air intake cover just shot out some pieces came off

That's bad, are you sure the crank and or cam pulleys are not 180* off? Are the cam gears installed correctly, on the right peg?

Sorry if I asked a lot of questions ,first time with a Mazda lol but how would I Be able to tell if there off?And what are the distinct features for the cams to know which one goes where? cause I believed they were removed and maybe the shop didn't put it back right.

The Cam gears/sprockets are the same on both Intake and Exhaust sides, there are two slots in the cam sprocket shaped like a V that fit on a peg on the end of each cam shaft. One goes on the left slot one goes on the right side slot (can't remember which is which off the top of my head), it makes sense if you are looking at it. Remove the bolts in the middle of the cam gears to see the slots. Crank pulley has a notch that should point straight up towards a mark on the cover.
