Tribute Wiper Nozzle

Hi,

I've been reading through the forum about people replacing the protege 5 wiper nozzles with the tribute nozzle. In looking more into it, the protege parts are two separate parts: left and right. When using the tribute nozzle, would you use the same part number for both sides? (part # EC016750YA)?

Also, does this also work for the back nozzle? Has anybody done anything similar with the back?

the protege are the same on both sides. or at least i never noticed a difference.

I just noticed in the parts manual that they were two different part numbers:
BJ0F-67-510B
BJ0E-67-510C

and the rear one is
B25H-67-510B

All come up as legit parts at onlinemazdaparts.com. Was curious if this was important.

I just got 2 Tribute nozzles and fit them with no problem. One of the best low cost mods I ever did.

i hate the piss stream in the rear.
wish it had like a fan spray in the rear too

^^^^^ That one is buried in the trim under the wing, don't remember seeing any threads about a different nozzle being swapped in back there.

i just did this mod over the weekend. anybody know how to aim the tribute nozzles? the top part of the spray pattern goes slightly above my windshield. i'm guessing its because the tribute may have a taller windshield.

some people in the miata forums say they bent the hood inward a bit where the nozzles were installed...dont really want to do that if i can adjust the nozzle instead. thanks

hmmmm....I've never heard of anyone having that problem before.

The only issue I've had with them is that they tend to leave the lower left portion of the windshield dirty.

i just did them too and they hit right in the middle of my windshield

I believethe difference in part numbers is because they are "keyed" so that each one only goes to one side. Aside from that I believe you could snip off the key and exchange them by side without noticing the difference.

the holes in the hood are exactly the sameon both sides. the only reason i could think that they are sided would be for the spray pattern.

yea i figured as much. 1 person changed the tubing from stock to something with a larger inner diameter. apparently this alleviates some of the water pressure from the tubes and the resulting spray is lower than normal.

the protege service manual does show separate spray pattern for each nozzle, but its not a significant difference and you can prob. get away with 2 of the same protege nozzles.

I did this to my OEM hood, winters in Canada they are really needed. One of the quickest and best mods I ever did.

the left and right are slightly angled thus the different part numbers

If the nozzle is spraying higher than ur windshield, either its not seated properly on the hood or ur hood is bent, it was a direct swap for me.
