Transmission Questions

Alright Protege geniouses. I need some info on our transmissions. Do all Proteges, Protege5s, MP3s and Mazdaspeeds have the same transmissions? If not, which ones are the same as the Protege5 and which are better, if they would work on the 5. This would pertain to the Manual transmissions. My first and second gear seem to be shot and Mazda is refusing warranty because of my header and cold air intake. Just looking for options on what to do if I have to buy a new transmission. If the transmissions are different between cars, but some are stronger and will work on the 5, which ones?

msp has the same tranny but has a LSD in it, although from what i've concluded, the stock LSD in the msp is a pos...just imo, also you know that mazda has to PROVE that the header/intake caused the tranny to break by law correct?

they are all the same... the msp has a POS LSD but bigger axles.

Mazda dealer pricks strike again!!! (notcool)
A friends P5 trans kacked on him, twice, and they fixed it both times.(broke the shift forks and fuked the syncros on 3rd)

The trannys are all the same. The MSP has a pretty decent LSD (awesome for the price) and bigger axles. But you have to do some work to get it to work in the Protege 5.

Other than that, any tranny will work. A tranny out of a newer car would be prefered though.
