i have a 99 es model with an automatic transmission, and having a problem. when you let the car sit a while and get cold (like an 8 hour shift at work or overnight) and get in the car the next day and start it up it goes in reverse fine but then you pull the shifter down into drive and the car just sits there for about 5 seconds then you can feel the car go into gear. it only does this when it sits for a long period of time and then it only does it the first time you put the car into drive. a couple of times that this has happened then car jerked when it went into gear and the o/d off light comes on flashing constantly and will not go off untill you kill it then start it back up. the car only has 71k miles and has got 8k miles left untill time to change the fluid again. the fluid is not low and i even took off the silicone vacuum lines i had put on it because the service manager at my local mazda dealership said that it may be vacuum related. also sometimes when you are slowing down at a redlight you can feel the car downshift, its not a hard shift but you can just feel it shift down a bit. this didnt start untill i put on my aem short ram air intake on, could this be the problem? anything will help.
