Trailer Hitch Install

Hey folks,

Not really a how-to, but after much research, I had to find out for myself if I could put a hitch on my 2010 Speed3.

Good news is Part # 60259 from Hidden Hitch works perfectly well. Snugs up nicely - barely noticeable - and about a 20 minute install *if* you decide to use the right holes in the supports the first time. Note, there are 3 holes - you want to use the one that's round, and closer to the front of the car. Should be easy enough to snake it in there with the include coiled wires. 4 bolts, a few washers and it's there.

Sorry - forget where I bought mine as it was over a year ago, but they're readily available from places like this: http://www.hitchanything.com/Hidden-Hitch-60259.html?gclid=CJOBrLq_4K8CFYFo4Aod-HsjDg

While it doesn't list the Speed3 specifically, I can assure you that it fits with no problems whatsoever, including clearing the exhaust, and comes with a tongue for the 3 as well.

Oh yeah - not about to debate whether you should tow with your Speed or not - mine is for a bike rack anyway. It's up to you, it's your car after all.

Had a hidden hitch, Class 1, installed on my M3 4dr Skyactiv 2012 by Rack Attack. Fits nicely with the Thule two place bike rack. They had to remove a removable plastic panel but I see no problem with this.
