Trading in P5 for MSP??

A 99-era 2.5RS would be a pretty sweet alternative to the WRX, I think.

Can you still find those in dealerships... The 99 wrx was my first choice in a vehicle, but i just couldnt find one, they're so hard to find...

Is a MSP easy to maintain, as long as i "baby" the car...?

The WRX didn't go on sale until '01, I think. When the bug-eyed Impreza debuted. The only GC8's for sale in the US were 2.5RS's. Awesome cars, but NA and very un-quick stock.

Maintence hasn't been a problem for me at all. The MSP will run fine as long as you don't up the boost without the proper supporting mods. Everything I've read suggests that it doesn't respond well to increased boost.
