Trading in my 07 Speed3 GT...gonna get screwed?

Part of me still thinks that way, haha, so you're not alone...

It'd be nice to free up $400 + $150 + $75 per month for a few months.

Nope. I don't even drive the Mazda most days....I take public transportation to work since it's cheap, fast, and easy.

A car to me is more of a weekend toy.

I didn't know it was possible in N'ville to (realistically) take public trans to work. Unless you live right off Washington somewhere by the Metra, and work in the city. I live in Aurora and work in Lombard, and there is no decent way to get to work. Traffic around here sucks.

2.5 years ago, I sold my '04 Mazda3 to buy an S2000 for the same reasons as you. I'm really glad I did.

It's a real fun car to drive, and usable as a daily driver if you don't carry a lot of passengers and stuff. But it is a little noisy and cramped. Definately take it for an extended drive and after you drive the hell out of it, drive it normally and think about whether or not you could live with it as a daily.
