traded in my Mazdaspeed for an SRT

sorry, i know every1 is gonna hate me but i did it. i wanted an srt 1st, but couldnt get them in my area, and they finally got them. Ok i will give every1 the pros and cons of both cars.

MAZDASPEED PROS: killer paint, stereo, wheels, basically all the exterior stuff. CONS: THE ENGINE SUX. i can drive good, and i just didnt like how the car had pretty serious turbo lag. i didnt understand why mazda just slapped a tiny turbo on there, w/out the chance to really tune it. Had to worry about warrenty too much. i thought the car would be more than it was power wise. A GREAT car in every other way. plus the hesitation that no 1 wants to fix.
NOW FOR THE SRT. if any1 has drove 1, it is night and day from the mazdaspeed, power wise. which is really what i wanted. No i dont go out and street race, but if i pay for a turbo car, it better be fast. NO TURBO LAG AT ALL. soon as u hit the gas it goes. 15psi if the weather is hot. despite what every1 says, its not a bad car. interior is very nice, gauges look indiglo, even boost gauge. shifter is 100% better on the hand than mazdaspeed. the seats are VERY nice, u fit right in them. Dodge also has a wide variety of FACTORY WARRENTIED parts giving the car up to 300hp & Blowoff valve which i have ordered already is a nice touch.

I just wanted a car the is MADE to be fast, w/out worrying about warrenty and tearing anything up. if u want just looks and want to have to add alot more to get good power, go w/ the mazda, if u want a powerhouse and want to customize the looks yourself go w/ the SRT. ITS ALL ABOUT PERSONAL TASTE

Hey man, I dont think anyone will really hate you. I mean it was your choice and if you are happy that is all that really matters. I am glad you like the SRT, hopefully mazda will learn from these problems once they decide to make the SPEED 6. Good luck with your new car.

Lesson learned: If you aren't happy with what you got then go out and get what makes you happy. No reason to flame that.....but of course come day break when the "children" wake up the flames will come.

Hey! Not all of us children are asleep yet...though I should be...(and I'm not real a child). Anywho...my car looks better as you're passing it! That's alright, though...to each his own, I'm just not a big fan of the Neon in any way shape or form. Don't blow that engine too quickly, though...I assume you had already broken in the MSP, so don't drive the Neon like you stole it! Good luck in your srt-y ventures!

I really dont have a problem with the SRT-4...i saw a red one in the worcester, ma area and i was impressed on how loud the BOV was in it..sounded REAL nice!

anyways, i hope u enjoy the SRT! I actually almost got one myself

I kind of like the srt-4, all I can say is have fun, man I'd get into to much trouble with a car that fast. I'll be happy when I have my msp at 250whp which could be a while from now but joe says it is possible. We'll see in the future. Good luck! Also don't beat up on the msp's on the road to bad You used to own one!!

the Neon is only faster in a straight line. Try laying that power down coming out of a corner. Plus suspension wise its pretty average but if you want power in a straight line then you have found your car.

What dealership did you go to, because I'm trying to get one also?

The dealership around my area is only getting them one at a time. Its first come first serve because they aren't having a wait list.

I got a real object lesson in the power delivery yesterday at the local autox... A fellow was there with his nice new SRT-4, and he couldn't use ANY of it's power: every time he tried to give it gas, the inside tire would light up. Period. The car seems to have NO lag, which is great, but the iffy tires and lack of LSD make it a losing proposition in my book. I'd rather have the lower power level, but be able to use it ALL....

Just my .02, though.... best of luck with it.

Damn- yash- if you're there, I think your ADD is rubbing off on me- now I want a Neon again since I am thinking about it .. If only I could get them to give another auto loan... They would make a nice pair!!!

Anyway- good luck with your car. You gave up too easy, but you got a car that is ready to go out of the box. When we gonna line them up though- you know the fast SRT 4 against my slow, laggy MSP lol -j/k.. Seriously though- you consider the MSP laggy? Damn, this is the fastest spooling turbo car I have owned in ages- buth when your other car has a turbo trhe size of your head, I guess anything below 5200 rpms (where my talon starts to pull ) is "quick spool"!!!
