Track or Strip?

Throughout automotive history (magazines, books etc.) I have noticed that strip has been used when talking about racing in a straight line and track has been used when talking about a course with turns in it.

What do you call a drag race in a straight line?

Strip or Track?

it's a drag strip.....when I hear "track" I think of a "real" racetrack with turns, etc.

either or depending upon my mood/who im talking to. People around me call it the track, (it is a drag strip) because it is the only track/strip around. Either is fine in my opinion as long as people know what you are talking about.
