I have a 2006 Mazda 3 and I put a set of Ford Fusion wheels on it. As it turns out the TPMS sensors on it are not compatible with the system on the 3.
I would like to turn off the tpms for the summer wheels so I don't have to look at the light blinking at me every time I exceed 20mph.
I am an Audi mechanic and on the Audis and VWs the vehicle can be recoded for Non-tpms markets (ie: Europe, Asia etc).
Is this possible to do on the Mazdas as well? Or is there some other way to disable it?
If you are going to respond with "Disabling your tpms is illegal....why would you do that......etc etc" don't bother. I don't care. It is in fact not illegal for me to disable the system on my own vehicle. Plus I am a mechanic, do you think I don't check my tires once a week?
I just would like a real answer to this question. I have scoured the interwebs for an answer and have only come up with people getting the previously mentioned responses. I am not going to spend the money on the sensors. I just want to find out what to do.
Thanks!
