TPMS question

On Labor day I bought and installed a set of RX8 wheels & rubber with NO sensors. The missing sensors was part of the deal. The stock rubber was mounted on the wheels so I just assumed the kid wouldn't lie about such a thing. I ended up being assured this was the case because the light appeared on my dash within minutes of the swap. I also kept getting a series of beeps every once and awhile which I assumed was all related. Anyhow, until last night I never got around to checking the tire pressures on the new tires. They were low - so I filled them up and took the car for a ride. For some reason, the light on the dash disappeared. It was still missing during my drive to work this morning which is a good 20 minute drive which I feel is enough time to sort it's self out. What gives?

All RX-8s have come with TPMS, so unless the rubber was dismounted, the sensors taken out, and then remounted, my guess is that they indeed have TPMS and he was mistaken. That, or you'll get the light again in due time.

Score!

Wouldn't it suck if he realized it down the road and asked for them back? I know I got a sick sense of humor.

this is the Beru TPMS valvestem that is used on all Mazdas:
