hmm i guess you aint gonna be reachin for anything no matter how close it is next time eh? well on the bright side you are walking away from death and
the WASHER NOZZELS are still ok!! WOOT WOOT!!!

Thanks for all of the comments, they are all appreciated. Anyone who knows anything about this site knows that if you post something like this you have to take the good with the bad. I have a really good attitude about the whole thing so keep it coming.

The most ironic thing, I am a major accident investigator for a major insurance company and teach driver safety and awareness (here come the jokes). I knew better but it happened so fast there was nothing I could do. We all think we are the best drivers in the world, but one momentary lapse of concentration will cause you to stare death in the face. All of this over a wallet in preparation to purchase a cup of coffee. It was very surreal.

I will not attempt to salvage anything off of this car, it is not worth my time. It is just money and since I am healthy, I can start over. Some Mazda owner at the salvage yard is going to be really happy with a free turbo. I am going car shopping next weekend and will probably purchase one of the new Mitsubishi or Subaru products, still deciding on which one.

I mostly feel bad for my wife, she is really torn up over this. Every time she looks into my eyes she starts crying and thanks god for sparing my life. When some of you get a little older and are married, you will understand. I was planning on getting her an Acura TL for Christmas, but now that has to wait a few months so I am also dealing with that. She does not care at this point but I feel that I let her down.

Thank god my wife and 7 mo old daughter were not in the car!

AMEN!

Wshade...why don't you let the protege guys in your area know where the car is..and sell them the turbo/parts at their cost.... I'm sure ou could use the extra cash.... even if it's $100 ....but just get them to do the work.

Try to make the best of it...

I'm sure you 7month old could use some fun toys :)

dude, thats the best paragraph I have read in a long time... I understand completely.

It is truly amazing you walked away from this with only bumps and bruises.

And the antenna walked away...WTF, that s*** didn't break off!!!

Glad you're here...and I know what you mean about being married with accidents. I rolled my Neon 10 months before my wedding and my wife practically had a heart attack on the phone. I was sitting in the police cruiser warming up when my cell rang and it was her. Not fun, she was more worried than I was. She got to the hospital and they had me in a neck brace and I was cracking jokes about it - she wasn't amused.

you are very lucky to have survived that, count your blessings and be thankful you still have your life. there are some who are not so fortunate and people need to realize you may be a great driver but you control nothing.. the unexpected can happen in a split second. you can trust yourself and your driving ability, its the things unseen you can not trust. glad to see your ok and your spirits are up, the car can be replaced even though the time and money you have already spent are lost. its not every day you get a second chance, take advantage of this oppertunity that you have been granted and make the best of what you got. judging from the distruction of the car, not many would survive that, he may have plans for you. good luck to you and your family.

Heart felt. Thanks. I heed those words.

I know several guys are interested in a few undamaged turbo parts from the car but honestly I am not interested in the proposals. Please do not take this the wrong way, god has blessed my family with the means to recover from this and I do not want to have anything else to do with this car. I don't even want to see it in person again. Thanks for all the warm words of encouragement, I will always remain part of this Protege family. At this point I need all of the emotional support I can get (kiss)

Wow, glad to hear you are OK. I just sat and stared at those pictures in disbelief for about 5 minutes for each picture.

WOW

You only lost a slight attention to road to get your wallet and this happen, just imagine how scary it could actually be for those that keep using their cell phones the whole time while they are driving.

Man, you really need to get your wife something nice!

Good Night that is Crazy, glad to see your Ok, I think that's the worst wreck I've seen on this board.
