Totaled or Repairable after Rollover?

BTW sooner or later someone you know will tell you that if you had a lower car it wouldn't have rolled. That would have been a bad thing. Your trusty CX-5 used up a LOT of energy rolling over. That energy had to go somewhere, either into crumpling all those panels or into you. The CX-5 did good.

I was just in an accident yesterday where I was t-boned by another vehicle likely speeding/texting, causing my car to flip over (see attached photos). Thankfully, the other driver and I came away with just a few scratches. As my car is going through the insurance claims process, could I get your opinion on whether my car is a total loss or possibly repairable? I want to be prepared in case I need to buy a new car.
2016 Mazda CX-5, 15,000 miles, bought August 2015
Make sure to read this old thread where the OP also rolled his CX-5 on the Houston highway but made an extra grand when he purchased another and newer CX-5! Unfortunately Ulrich has been MIA in this community and the pictures are no longer displayable!

Traded in my MY15 for an MY16 and ended up with a grand in my pocket...

TOTALED!

I would NOT accept a rebuilt CX5 if they try and repair it. No way. It rolled and catastrophic engine damage has happened also since the oil pan dumped oil into the top of the engine. There's tons of oil in the combustion chamber and even inside the heads and intake since valves stick open.

Get a new CX5. They are safe vehicles. As evidenced here.

Hi Everyone!

Update: as you suspected, the car is officially totaled!

Yesterday, I went to the same dealer, same salesperson and arranged to purchase:
- the same vehicle (now 2016.5/Sport/Meteor Gray - Last car had a back up camera, now this is standard)
- ~$500 less out the door (loyalty)
- lower interest rate than last time
- with similar freebies (2 year free oil changes, 1 year of ding coverage, etc.).

In case you are curious, the final price of vehicle is about $1,200 less the factory invoice. They said that they already met their sales goal for September so did not want to do the deal when I went in on 9/30 but would do the deal this week. Car is already marked sold for me.

Thank you so much for keeping me company through this thread and I look forward to chatting more in the lounge in the future!

IMHO while discussing price for CX 5 only one thing matters, % discount on MSRP. Invoice price is not reliable plus has dealer holdbacks etc. I believe there websites that show invoice price but charge you, those websites could be as useless as trucar etc.

It would be about 8% off $24,495 MSRP of 2016.5/FWD/Sport/Meteor Gray, very similar to what someone else recently got in the other thread on current going prices. I think the spread is a little thinner on the more basic models such as mine, but if you think I can do better, I am open to tips!

Well it seems you need the car soon - so time is a factor. When you can't get price down try to get add ons:

1. Cargo Tray
2. Any other accessory you need.
3. Oil changes if you do not do yours.

8% considering time shortages is good. I would like to push it to 9 or 10 that would be sweet - if not get the above.
I got upwards of 12% without any rebates except financing which i switched in 15 days + Cargo Tray + Tint + (I think i will get my first service free - atleast the quote my dealer matched had 1 oil change free).

But you never know, I smell some buyers getting 18% off MSRP for thier 3's - could be the high mileage car sitting on lot for months or a loaner etc. But from the Price thread 10% or up is good.
Overall most important thing is you are safe and CX-5 is a very good value for money.
