Toronto MSP Pre-meet for Meeting of Mazda

TIME: 11:30am-1:30pm
WHAT: "Meeting of Mazdas"
Where: Sherway Garden Mall (QEW & 427)

Hey Guys,
Well, there's a new thread i kept telling you guy's about that i was going to come up with. So for all of you who are in Toronto and is going to the Meeting of Mazda's this is the MAZDASPEED pre-meet itinerary.

I thought it would be a good idea for us to meet at a place where everyone is fimilar with. So, i'd like to have it at Audio 2001 located at Woodbine & Hwy 7 (southwest corner). For those who aren't fimilar with where i'm talking about, there's a Fire & Ice restuarant as you drive along hwy 7. You can't miss it.

Here are some directions to this parking lot pre-meet. If you are coming from the east or west along the 401 make your way onto the 404 Northbound to Newmarket. Exit at hwy 7. Travel east on hwy 7 for 2 blocks. Fire & Ice is on your right side. Make a right into Fire & Ice and proceed to the parking lot. You should see me or whom ever shows up first in there clean Spicy Orange MAZDASPEED. The parking lot is usual empty on the north side (near the pond). So park in that area.

Since the Meeting of Mazda meet is a relatively early time. I plan on having this pre-meet at 11:30am. We will leave at Noon sharp. From here, we will cruise to the Meeting of Mazda meet which will take approx 35 mins.

In terms of the actual meet, I don't have much more information to give other then what's already given in the previous threads. So, i couldn't tell you where to park at the meet, but i'm sure we'll find a good spot for us MAZDASPEED's to park all together.

I think this pre meet will be a good idea, since none of us have actually met, so it would be nice to know someone before we go out to meet more strangers.

Arkitek, dpmmsp, tekkie I hope you guy's can make it. I can't think of any other names from Toronto. But if you are, just post here.

Some important items to bring:
For those who have a FRS radio, please bring it for better communication on our drive to the meet. Of course, bring your digital camera or film taken camera. Who knows if you'll ever get to see this many MSP owners together again.

Hope all of you MAZDASPEED owner's in Toronto can make it. It should be a great pre-meet!

Im Farmside so i should be at the Krispy Kreme/Hillcrest mall meet

Im still not 100% on being there - if i get my springs on this week and the weather is ok this week then the MP3 will likely be out for the meet

still up in the air though....and this will be the first time ive seen you since the start of toprotege i think!

Hey I'm from kitchener/waterloo, and I am part of toprotege.com.
I just haven't been out to any meets yet this will be my first one. And I've been a member since I got my p5 almost 2 years ago but since have moved on to a mazdaspeed.

I guess you can count me in too. I think i have plans but not sure. So i'm still not 100% sure.

Also I'm bringing my msp to the body shop on tuesday so depending on how long they take to repair my bumper, i might not make it. Hopefully it would only be two days to repaint it.

If you ask why i'm going to the shop, I got rear ended two weeks ago. I had a thread with pics too. :'(

Consider I am one of the founders. I am a fellow toprotg (Hey! I came up with the name you know!) member since day one, so let's all of our protgs in one piece.

Hillcrest mall is not too far either, why don't we all meet together, and then take a cruise to the meet?

That pre-meet time is kinda late no?! Location is a tad far from the meet also and we might run into traffic accross the 401.

I would like to show up earlier at the real meet to mingle and see what others have done to their rides to get some ideas with what to do with mine.

How about 11-11:30 am at Dave & Buster by Hwy 7 / Hwy 400? Huge parking lot there.
We'll leave at 11:45 arriving at Sherway by noon or so.

wow everyone all wants to meet at different places lol. All of them are decent places and have large parking lots. Anyways let all decide on one place. Hillcrest is a good place, especially since toprotege is already meeting there (+ krispy kreme is there! )

I also have to agree that shereway garden is a bit far and traffic is always an issue on the 401.

Most, if not all of us are part of Toronto Protege Club. But we're just a member that post on the forums. None of us have formal met, so i thought this would be a great idea for MAZDASPEED owner's to meet up before we actually go out to meet more people. This is just for us to feel more comfortble. At least to know some people.
The reason, why i came up with this meet is because i don't want to just show up at D & B or the STC/jack Astor's pre meet and not know anyone at all.

arkitek - If you been to any kind of meet, like the saying goes "if you seen it once, you've seen it all" So, i thought it would good enough if we just made an appearance and not go at the exact time they were starting at. But like i said, it would be good to make our grand entrence with all MAZDASPEED owner's.
If you want to go earlier, what time do you have in mind? I can always change it. Keep in mind though, Brennan is coming from Waterloo to this pre-meet. So it's going to be hard for him to get here that early on a Saturday. Ulitimately, it's up to you which pre-meet you want to go to. Good luck!

Brennan - this is also my very first meet, and have NEVER been to any TPC meet befores, so you're not the only one.

BakaFoo- I hope you will have your car ready by April 5th. Every MSP will make a differences, since there aren't many. This is also my first meet, so we're all newbie here. There's no doubt that Sherway Garden is far! I think it's going to take at least 40 mins to get there from our pre-meet location. Which pre-meet are you going to? Represent MS!

OceanPark- have you decided which meet you're going to go to? I thought you were going to the Yonge and 16 pre meet? You can bring your Mp3, but we're all MAZDASPEED's so you'll be a bit out of place . Nonetheless, you've got a nice ride anyway, so come if you like!

This is my first meet also.

The time is fine but the location is a tad far from Sherway Garden like I said. It would mean people coming from the west like Waterloo would have to drive all the way to east side of Toronto at 7/Woodbine and back to the west side again for the real Meet.
Going across the 401 twice like that can take a while if there's traffic that's all.

We might be better off in picking a location on the west end closer to Sherway for our pre-meet. D&B by 7/400 is the closest large parking area I can think of.

If we can't meet earlier, then we can keep it the same as with 11:30 am and leaving for Sherway at high noon.

Kenny, I know who you are. I met you at the Original 6 meet last season. Hope you can make it out to some more meetings this coming summer.

You guys never have to worry about not being welcome to the meets. if you drive any generation Protege, you're WELCOME to the club, no matter when, where or what the event is. "The more the merrier" phrase is definitely used alot in the club. So next time, don't be shy about just coming by to say hi. I definitely want more new members to participate in all the events and on the message board. Remember, it's up to the members to make it happen, so don't be shy and come out to some meets. Also, since you guys drive Mazdaspeeds, you guys will stand out and definitely get the attention. I hope you guys will also sign up for Darknights v5.0 this year. It would be nice to have a small contingent of Mazdaspeeds repping! See you guys at the MoM meet! (rockon)

You are right about the fact that some people have to go back and forth from the west to the east then back west. I guess that's why there is other pre-meets that can satisfiy everyone.
How did you plan on driving to Sherway? I was thinking about using 404 southbound onto DVP and into QEW then, drive towards the 427.
Where are you coming from? I'm on the east end.
I still think 11:30am is about right at Woodbine & hwy 7.

We will be at the MOM event for sure. i look forward to seeing many other Mazda's. I still think it's an idal way for us MAZDASPEED owner's to meet a head before the actual meet. And since many of us already agreed that it would be nice to have this pre-meet, so let it be. I and everyone will be happy to meet more Protege owners at the MOM event. So we'll see you there! Brennan already has plans for his MSP and will be entering his car in Darknight's this year. So, you should see him.

Btw, are you the admin of TPC?
What is the plan after the MOM event? Do we go for a cruise?

Yeah, I'm VP of the club. We have 1 regional rep for each of the Westside, Eastside, North (Farmside) and Central (although looking for a new rep rite now) areas in the GTA. I know there is a Farmside pre-meet at Yonge and 16th. But i understand why just the Mazdaspeed owners want to meet exclusively. We'll try to save some spots for your group at Sherway Gardens.

After the MoM meet, there are no official plans. A cruise is not planned since meeting at Sherway is the main event .... that's why there are pre-meet cruises. However, some members may want to cruise around after, so cruising can be a possibility afterwards.
