Top Speed...

Black Mica MSP
Well today I went for a ride to pick up my Injen CAI (hopefully getting it installed this weekend) and I decided to see what my MSP could do.. long story short.. I hit 130mph with windows down.. probably could've gone faster.. but I didn't want to risk it, and also I had a lot of wind slowing me down.. pretty cool feeling tho :)

BTW this is a great forum!

i have burried the needle on my msp 1 time and that was just to make sure it would do all it says it would do. Really fun cars. I bought my 2003.5 about a month ago and loving every minute of it.

ive gotten it up to 130 but backed off i was running out of road, it is a great feeling cant get enough speed hehe

hey yall, if u could do me a favor next time ur out in ur cars driving, can u check ur rpm at set speed, like xxxx rpm at 80mph, jus so i know what gear ratios u guys r using, max i've ever been was 118 in my P5 and i just cant seem to get it any higher

HAHA...isn't it a bit psychotic to run an MSP with only 1276 miles like that! I personally think a break-in period would be in better order...don't necessarily baby it during break-in, but a top speed run is an extreme IMHO!

Midnightracer22 - The P5 is drag limited at right about 118MPH. That's actually the fastest top speed published for the P5...I've seen ranges from 112-118. The car just doesn't have enough ponies under the hood to overcome drag.

EDIT: Upon closer inspection, I see that is the trip meter.

I noticed that the seatbelt indicator was lit as well. I would hope you arent driving that fast with no belts as well....

ooo, thanx for the info, really appreciate it :) i guess im gonna have to do something about that underhood bit ehh?

Yeah as I looked at that picuter the first thing I saw was the seat belt light... at least if your gonna do something dumb (cant wait till I get to try :P) be smart about it... (yeah i think thats an oxymoron):D

I'm callin :bs: on this one. The idea of driving a car 130+mph is crazy enough... but taking a picture at the same time??? (with one's seatbelt off no less) I just think it's bulls***. Think about how easy it would be... just put it up on jacks like in Ferris Bueler or one of those machines they use for dyno testing.

To those who actually DID do this... I wish I could tip my hat but when you take into account the fact that, if caught, you'll go to jail and lose your license... if you crash, you're dead. no matter what. unless you're in a stockcar or something you're not walking away from a crash at that speed. Sure, it feels good to drive fast. I've had mine around 100 a few times so maybe that makes me a hippocrate.. i don't know. What I do know is, if you guys didn't use a jack or something to take these pictures, you are some ****** crazy ass motherfuckers!!! hahaha L8R

Chico...you must remember that you and me have never seen roads straight enough to do this in CT. Perhaps rt.9 south or rt. 8...but you never know when you'll find a cop there. Let's face it...our state's just too small! :D

heyy, i just realized another thing about y our cars cant go as fast, the ratios are different, the pic is showing just under 6000 at 132 while in mine at approx 6000 itz ~120, this sux, i see a swap coming int he near future

Hmmm, I'm afraid I must call BS as well.. 134 MPH with no seat belt, and taking a pic at the same time, an exceptionally clear one, perfectly framed, by the way? Uh uh, don't think so.

Now, if by some way out chance I'm wrong, let me just say, you are one crazy motherfucker!

Is this straight enough?
