Top 20 Best-Selling Vehicles of 2009

No, they actually last a long time as far as miles go. Most fleet company's will only keep them for so many miles and then sell them and buy new ones. This helps keep maintenance cost down. That and they are fairly cheap. With the F150 Crew Cab selling for less then 25k you can trade it in after 2 years and still come out on top.

ok lets say fleet companies would ditch them after a year... but where do these trucks go? the corolla is only #4 but i see a s*** load more than i see these f series trucks... maybe its just my location, but i live in a bad winter season state so i would think that ill see more f series trucks than i see corollas... just pondering where they go, im not saying the list is wrong by any means...

btw im in nursing so no way i have any knowledge of accounting....

Again, its because it accounts for the whole damn series, so F150, F250, F350, and F450.
Everything except the ranger so that's like the Focus, Fusion, and Taurus all counted as one. Or if the corolla, Camry, and Avalon sales were added altogether. So you have 3 or 4 market segments rolled into one.
Plus if your looking for something in the super duty class because you plow or haul equipment for work you only have 3 choices: Dodge, Ford, and Chevy. Toyota doesn't compete here.
So you have 4 models, ranging over a several markets of buyers with limited alternatives....Makes sense to me. Its not like an electrical contractor is going to buy a corrolla. Be a bit hard to fit all of there tools and supplies in it. Plus I am rather positive the wheels would explode under the weight.

They go all over. After the crash of our economi alot of dealers have started shipping cars over seas. The people over seas could buy an American made car pay shipping and still save thousands. But even before that they were sold at auctions to whole salers. Then you'd see them at the small locale dealers. I mean that's just one reason.

So by this statement I take it you moved to America?

Oh, and the stupid americans that buy these trucks that build this country. They are the ones that build your homes, stores, and roads. Trucks are multi purpose. They help feed the animals that you eat for dinner or in some cases help in planting the beans used for making the tofu that the other stupid americans eat.

Yes, I really HATE statements like yours.

Awww, don't HATE..., i never said that i hate anything or anyone, i just said that we don't always make the best decision for humanity/society/environment in the long-run, humans in general don't... which is sad...

sorry I offended you/anyone else, i forgot that anything we say people can take the wrong way, sorry again. public apology offered.

and, i'm from (usa); i don't even have a passport... :( i hope to move over to an EU country within about 10 years or so, maybe, we'll see...

back on topic, NOW!

Yes, but it's a far cry from the volume that any in the top 20 do

If you get rid of superduty and large trucks...like has been said before, how do you think large tools, materials and such are going to make it to job sites? Think before you b**** about people buying vehicles that allow them to do their jobs

If F-150s are used to perform the activities they are designed for there is no way around, but at least in my neck of the woods I've seen many of these trucks driven by office dudes to get to work, do grocery shopping and pickup kids at the school

In the South (i.e. Texas, Arizona, Louisiana) I've seen even worse, actually many ladies like them too, it is not just dudes

I guess that point has to be taken if its adding to the sales crazily, especially when you see them on the news complaining that gas prices have gone to the roof and they are struggling to make ends meet (dunno)

Why is everyone making a big deal about the best selling vehicle in the US is a truck series?
