Took Stock amp and sub out help now

OKay well i figure this is a msp/mp3 specific question to anyone who has taken that board thing out under the rear deck in the trunk. Okay well there was this little black box thing with 2 nuts holding it in place in the stock amp rack. Well i had to cut the 2 wires going into it to get it off. Anyway my question is i think this is the controller for the raer window defroster. So where should i relocate it to? Anyone else who has done this please explain. THANKS

It *should* be the keyless entry module, not the defroster element.

no, It's for the defroster. the bracket for the black box needs to be grounded. Remember that ground wire bolted under the bracket. I mounted mine with the two bolts on the left shock tower that was holding the sub bracket. These two bolts also hold the striker for the driver side seat back. I had to cut the wires to. Just soldered em back together.

Why did my keyless entry stop working when I disconnected mine a few weeks ago?

hmm not sure. But I'm 100% sure its for the defroster. I followed the wires.

I have to disagree for my car at least. If the box says "Naldec" on it, which mine did, it's the keyless entry. Search for "Naldec" on here and you'll see a thread that even mentions the location:

Did anybody else notice the strange spot that the factory keyless entry module is located? If you have a sedan, it is under the rear deck plastic piece. When I was changing my speakers a while back, I noticed it there. It is a little box that says Naldec on it.

I wonder where Mazda put this keyless entry module in the P5?

And a search on google.com brings me to this page which has:

I guess the real test could be just having him go try his keyless entry. But yeah, the box under the rear deck was the entry system for my car. Dunno if they changed that between models or what..
