I have a local muffler shop in my town who's gonna do my exhaust.....I'd like to buy one pre bent but I don't have the money and these guys are cutting me a deal(parts trade). so anyways my thoughts are on getting a 2.5" full turbo back exhaust no cats with an apexi N1. Any opinions? Anybody else had a similar setup and good results with a different muffler? I am pretty sure a CEL will come up so should I even try to put the 02 sensor in the line or put a MIL stopper on it. Also, would 3" be too big for just having a cold air intake......I have no plans to up boost but i'm going to add a few more thing to make it faster.

i made my own 2.5 with apexi n1 exhaust. it sounds so sweet. there is a thread with alot of sound clips, with dif mufflers.

I want it to be loud but have a good tone.......half my friends cars with exhaust make it almost hard to talk or have a cell phone conversation....do you have much sputtering when you let off the gas

well i have no cats. its mandrel bent all the way from the turbo. you could always get a resonator or 2 so its not that loud. not that loud unless you get on the throttle.

If you go 2.5 I suggest a cut-out installed also, just incase you want to play harder down the road.

sorry for my ignorance....what is a cut out.....is it like a flanged piece of pipe that can be removed like a midpipe

i have no cats on mine and the problem with the o2 sensor is this. even if you have the MIL eliminator you will still need to get a bung installed on the new exhaust so that the o2 sensor can sense air flow. if there is no air flow it will read nothing. you just need airflow with the MIL eliminator for it to get rid of the CEL. my car sounds good with no cats and one resinator. I got the corksport power series for 3 something. and i think it sounds great....not loud until you need it to be. and even then its not THAT loud

It's a piece of pipe that's welded in line with the exaust before the first cat. It has a valve with another short pipe that goes out into the air. You hit a switch, and the valve opens for full open exhast. Hit the switch again, and it closes, returning the exhaust to stock. Pretty cool, really.

hey deacon, on the corksport exhaust dont you love when you punch it into high rpm's its tone totally changes, almost like it gets higher pitch but not as loud as when you lightly hit the gas in regular driving

Do you think it would be worth it to put the stock resonator in line to give a little back pressure and reduce backfiring

you gotta have a helluva lot a fuel in that pipe to be shootin flames ..

i backfire, but not backfire fire ..
