TomTom NB1 favourites

Hi,

The last time I updated the satnav it deleted all my favourites. TomTom's solution is to add favourites as POIs instead, however on my old device you could copy the mapsettings.cfg file to the computer and replace after the update and that resolved the issue. I have been through all the folders on the NB1 and I can't find this file. Does anyone know where the favourites are stored on the NB1 or if there's a way of protecting the favourites?

Thanks in advance

I've updated my NB1 for over a year now, including some very major updates TomTom released, and my favorites has not been deleted. Only my HOME favorite.

I just updated my TomTom last night from 10.851 to 10.852 and I didn't lose anything.

Maybe it only happens when you update the maps (which I don't).

From experience with a TomTom portable unit this is correct. The favourites are deleted when you update the maps.

I emailed Tomtom about the favorites, answer was, In regards to your backing up your favorites, there is a way of manually backing up your favorites outside of TomTom Home. This involves finding your map folder on your root directory of your SD Card, and copying a file called MapSettings.cfg. This MapSettings.cfg file contains all of your favorites information, so you can just store this away in your documents until you need it again. BUT I just can not find Mapsettings.cfg ! ?

That is the same file I used to find on my old 750 TomTom but I can't find it anywhere on the NB1! Have just tried adding a new favourite to see which file has been updated but there isn't one!! I have absolutely no idea... Thanks anyway
